Jimmy Blower info?

I just aquired a few 6-71 blowers for cheap. Well free.
What is involved in regards to making these things work on a V8 gasoline engine. I've found small amounts of information here and there, but not a complete "how-to" manual.
Is is cost-prohibitive to even mess with them?
The knowledge has not been lost. I hope.
