Got a chance to meet Jimmy Shine at the World of Wheels show here in Minnesota last weekend.
He was cool enough to pose for some pics with anyone who asked.
My 13 year old son was most impressed.
Thanks Jimmy if you read this.

Yeah, he's either a no talent ass clown, highly skilled all around great guy or somewhere in the middle. I am almost sure of this. I've heard the same stuff, but never met the man. Gotta be rough being the icon that represents "rat rods" to all uninformed civilians. I bet Jesse James is excited to have some relief though!

met him at the world finals at bonneville last year. really approachable guy that didn't seem to mind me ribbing him about spinning his roadster 3 times in a row. even with all the frustration of the problems he was having that day i saw him take a few min several times to talk to fans and such, pose for pics etc.

I met him this weekend at World of Wheels Chicago. Seemed like a real cool dude. I personally don't know him, but my guess is he just doesn't have time for bullshit. If you try throwin bullshit his direction, you might as well piss off.

I'm going to make a sweat-shirt and put my name on it!

Just kidding! I've never met the guy but he seems like a very hard worker, and someone who gets the job done.

Funny how so many guys can build great cars for years, and barely feed themselves--- with little recognition.

Get on TV once, and you're all of a sudden a celebrity worshipped by many....

I've got nothing bad to say about Jimmy Shine and im stoked for him.

Talent and hard work can get you places.
TV and hype is the supercharger of that and seems to 10 fold the boost.

  17. I "met him" at a stop light a few weeks ago. He was in "the pick up" and I was in my Ford. He gave me a head nod and a wave and made a right turn...peeled out down the street and scared the living shit out of a bunch of people waiting at the bus stop. That cemented it for me...he's a cool guy.

I have met both before and I have to say Jimmy seems like a really cool guy, realy down to earth and approachable. I don't think that all the fame and publicity is his idea. Boyd on the other hand is a complete prick and I hope that I have another chance to meet up with him and tell him that. He made everyone feel like we were bothering him even though they were standing in line to meet him (what an ass). I saw him at the MSRA back to the fifties last year and it only took about fifteen minutes to get through the line whereas the year before it was about a 2 1/2 hour wait to meet Chip Foose ( Another good guy to talk to) that I think tells you something.
