Great work. I love these art comes to life threads. You guys are amazing at capturing it.

There we a couple of other threads a few months back where a guy was chronicling his buddy building cars from pieces of art. I can't find it but yours reminded me of the theme. Love it. Thanks! Subscribed!

i normaly like to be different and do my own thing but when jimmys art came out in the r&c magazine a few years back, i just knew i was building that tub. i realy like 28 29 model a's and the art just seamed so right. the only thing i did different was the windshield. i just like original winshields better.

Man, this is just too cool! What gauge sheet did you use for the floor? And now that its welded in how are you going to strengthen it so it doesn't oil can? Or is it heavy enough that it won't?

it is 16 gauge . i should have rolled some beads in the floof to keep it from rattling but it is kind of heavy and i will run bolts throught the floor in the x members like a 33-336 ford. theat should keep the noise down. i am trying to get the car dont and running out of time. i wanted to have it ready to go to bonneville speedweek this year but time is running out quick . i have to have the tub running buy the first week in october at the latest.

Isn't that your drag pic in your avatar? LMAO...

Funny, when I saw this sketch it reminded me of a similar one I did several years back. Mine was real similar, but I leaned the back panel in like a Vicky would have been. But I'd be terrified to show my art around here with the likes of you and Norwell and all of the other MASTERS!

here are some new pics of the doors. a sedan door is about twice the width as a roadster. i had to cut it down and thin it out. now the sedan door just had and inner skin at the top for the window regulator. a roadster door had a full skin. i just got a picture of a 28-29 model a roadster inner door structure and copied it but also had to make it longer to fit the sedan door. these new inner structures are not totaly exact copies but close enough . all this work and they will be hidden by the interior. i also put in bear claw latches aswell.

This is good stuff. I've been debating thinning out sedan doors as well on my coupster. I do believe that just capping the doors throws off the car itself. It'd be fat.

This is giving me ideas and is getting me to think on how to thin my doors out. Thanks.

put those doors on jenny craig!!!!!! yes they need to be thinned. my though is that if i were to just cap the they would look like there were JUST CAPPED . they dont look right. it wasnt to hard to make up some inner door skins.

Hey Jim, don't you get some kind of royalties from a project like this? You know, like you get to be the first to drive it or something?

X2. It's the little touches that count. My coupster is going to be just that. A coupster. No need for windows so I figure all I have to worry about are the door handles and their inner workings. But even that should be easy to manipulate.. All I gotta do is find a set of good sedan doors.

I'll test this idea out on my "dummy" door and see how to set about doing it. I'll probably keep the interior panels on the doors stock. Maybe play with the idea of adding roadster door touches to the inside of sedan doors to come up with a unique combination.
