I had a Mecedses/Toyota dealership smooze me away from the independant shop I worked for but one of the conditions was that I could let my clientel follow me. One day an old customer showed up. A 90 something year old guy with a 51 Desoto coupe he had bought new. It created quite a stir when I had it on the lift. I had about 20 snot nosed salesmen out there wondering what it was.

Thanks everyone. We interviewed someone yesterday that seems promising, should find out for sure by the end of the week. The type of experience that we are looking for is 1. Able to trouble shoot & diagnose late model with a scanner 2. Able to do a/c & trouble shoot it as well 3. Enough experience with vintage, non computer vehicles, that they don't get lost. We do a lot of 40's-60's cars but some late model as well. My guy that is leaving, does our late model & a/c work. The rest of the crew does the vintage & some late model, we need that person who is a fit with the rest of our team & can do the job.

Back when I was 15 1/2 I knew to keep my mouth shut when my boss whipped my ass otherwise he'd stick his thing in there.

    Cluelessness is rampant.
