Ive been on the Jockey Journal side of things for awhile since my diehard interest is in old sickles...but I do visit the HAMB forum often b/c old stuff is cool whether its 2 or 4 wheeled. Anyway, I figured it was time for me to make an intro. I'm Mike, live in Atlanta, and own a '56 Chevy Big Window Pickup that Ive had since the early-80s. I used her to putt to high school and college, but she has since been parked for 10ish years. She is pretty much stock with the original 235 Inline6 engine. Regretfully, she's been outdoors this whole time, but has faired quite well. The interior has been eaten by mice and the bed is rotted away, but the body is in pretty good order w/o too much rusting away. Im hoping to bring her home to a enclosed garage later this fall and get her back running again. I have no plans to make her a show truck, or even 50% show truck. Just want to get the motor freshened up, take care of the rust, replace the bed-wood, and get the interior cleaned up so I have a good place to sit. If all goes well, I'll be asking a ton of questions and absorbing as much as possible. Doubtful that I'll be contributing much knowledge though. Its good to be on board but I gotta run so I can spike my post count by saying "Atta Boy", "Bitchen", "Nice Ride"and "Sweet" to the next 50 posts. Later. .
