so I picked up a joe hunt magneto for the 56' and I'm confused about the wiring. I know my firing order 18436572 but do I run the wires straight to the numbers on the top. I know it can't be that easy.. After finding tdc of course.. I know this is probably out there somewhere but I can't find it... Thanks guys for the help. Been out for a while, just picked myself up another rod so I'm eager to get back to it

  2. No, the numbers on the cap are quite meaningless. You'll have to match the rotation in the cap to your firing order. I learned this the hard way back in the 60's

So basically, line it up on a tab, that being my number one. Then go from there 8,4,3 and so on? So the numbers are pointless. That's strange

I believe the numbers are in order of rotation of rotor so you start at 1 tdc now #2 on cap goes to the next on your firing order in your case cyl #8 and so on

Believe locked. I'll look that up. Joe hunt here in California built it. And there instructions were vague

Is it a mag , or a mag look alike?... If it's a fake one... Get the good AAA towing plan or put the distributor in the trunk.. 95% chance it will leave you stranded within 2000 miles

Nope... It's the real deal. And this thing will shock the hell out of you if you touch the rotor and manually turn the gear...
