Current owner of this flathead powered, unchopped steel Deuce previously owned for many years by Joe Scanlin of Long Beach is looking for the magazine and/or hot rod book that featured this rod. Joe was a longtime member of California Roadster Club. Prior to Joe's ownership, the rod was owned by Ed Hagerty. Any help with magazine/book ***le, issue date etc is appreciated by the current owner. Photos of the car can be viewed here: https://www.instagram.com/50oldstinwoody/
do you have any pics that you can post here. I am not a member of instagram and therefor can't access those posts
I am not a member of Instagram. I was able open Instagram in a browser as long as it was not the Chrome browser. No signin is required for viewing. Sorry. I could not find a way to download the photos for posting here.
I use chrome, and yes I can't view. oh well, so you can see them but couldn't save to your computer and post here?
Saved this from Instagram, best of what was posted there, hopefully someone can remember it and remember the features. It does look vaguely familiar
See to recall a Street Rodder magazine article on the car. I have some info on various cars he owned Ed sent me also and will look thru that.
We continue looking for the issue of one of the soft cover hot rod books that featured this rod. Likely from the mid 1990's. Any help is appreciated. I have ordered a copy of the December 1995 American Rodder for the current owner.
@Big Al scores again! Thanks for your help. Bought a copy on eBay. Shipped directly to current owner of this rod. Thanks to all who helped with this search, especially our friend from Down Under, Big Al.
For those reading this thread - Joe Scanlin p***ed today at 94. A member of our club, California Roadsters since 1994, he will be sorely missed
