    It's in Roscoe IL.

I know that this place has been talked about here before, but they now have Johnny Cash's famous car there for us all to look at, among other things as well. I think this would make a great Hamb Tour.

I had to do a double take, then a triple. The rearend of the car caught me off guard. That is funky looking. Like the rest of the car though. Johnny MF'n Cash. R.I.P. KNUX!

  7. That is pretty freakin' cool. I've always loved that song and I knew someone had to use it as inspiration, no matter what the outcome looked like.

That's awesome! Who built it? First time I played that for my wife (who is Mexican and never heard of Johnny Cash before "Walk the line") she was rolling on th the floor laughing.

I can just imagine a couple guys sitting around a junkyard listening to the radio and getting the idea to build it.

  12. Hard to believe Johnny Cash didn't get played in Mexico, and Hasslehoff is a god in Germany.

Germany or anywhere else for that matter!

I bet Cash got played in Mexico, just my wife never heard of him (although I've never heard his songs here either).

I remember finding a more indepth article while I was in college. I know that he used to play at an annual fair in a small town and had the car there. he would donate all proceeds to the town that came from the show.

nothing like the "Psychobilly Cadillac" ... ugly and cool all in one shot, anyone know if it runs and drives? And is the drive train the same as in the song?

Always used to want to build one but then found out it had already been built. I've gotta say that it's a lot uglier than I ever envisioned it. As you can tell, it was built a few years ago, but you just have to love that someone had the commitment to bring the "Psychobilly Cadillac" to life.

It's only a 6 hour trip for me...hmmm...I wonder what other fun stuff there is to do in that area to make it worthwhile to drive down...

I think I remember seeing a video of the song with JC and the car when I was a kid. Does anyone have it?

It even made a VERY brief appearance in the famous "Hurt" music video from 2 years ago that won the award...there's a real quick "thumbs up" shot of him towards the end, it's from when they filmed the video KIRK! posted above.

That wasn't funny. In fact, that was stupid and disrespectful.

I would agree. This comes from ignornce. Anyone who has not read up on Cash, or knows anything about the family would never say such things.

The Cash name is not one that should be made fun of, he was a great person/humanitarian despite his personal demons which came and went.

Sounds like he needs to read a little.

    I'd start here:

    http://tinyurl.com/2bvn9w

It's a great read by the way. One of many in my collection on Cash.

I was really thankful to receive "the big book" as a gift for Christmas this year...it's by far THE book to have on JC. The CD's, DVD and the photography are amazing.

We're getting O/T here....PM me if you want to know more about it.

Cash is the only "celebrity"-type person I really regret I didn't get to know better before he died. I got "in to" him about 2 years before he passed. I'd give my left nut to spend 5 minutes talking to him. Just look at my avitar.

The complete destruction of the Cash house by fire really saddened me, it was a future destination. http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070411/ENTERTAINMENT06/704110441

There was a video I saw on the web (can't find it now,) of a Tennessee news station that walked thru the house when it was still up for sale...Johnny Cash's brother Tommy Cash is a realtor, and he took the news crew on a tour. The house was amazing. The saddest thing was knowing that the doorway to the "Elvis bathroom" that had all the growth marks of the Cash children on it with the dates, was destroyed in the fire. No personal belongings to June or John were in the house at the time of the fire. Barry Gibb has decided to rebuild a home apart from the original foundation, and intends to leave what remains of J.C.'s house as a shirne.

Anyone looking for more info on that topic should start here:
