I am heading up to Joplin from Plano, TX on Friday in case some have things they want to send but can't get it to Big Ken by Thursday. You can PM me. I wont have a ton of room as I am taking my 48 Plymouth Coupe daily driver but every little bit will help.

I am currently in Vegas at a trade show but can get you info through PM on where you can drop off your donations.

    This is awesome, everyone!

Ryno, Wrenchbender- I wish I could be there to help, instead of stuck here in PA. until the 3rd....

  6. My Wife, little girl and I dont have much, but I would like to help. I can get gift cards or send some baby to toddler clothes, maybe some stuffed animals to help the kids.

Does any of this help, is anyone heading that way from Iowa?

Just talked to Ryno, and he said we could use golf carts and/or 4-wheelers. There is so much debris, it is difficult for trucks to get to areas.
If your in the Dallas area, holler at me, if you can help here. We have been offered a 24' enclosed trailer for security and transport. THANKS PUSHROD......
Also, looks like we are going to take some burgers and hot dogs and do some grillin' for the locals. There is no power, so hot food will be a treat. So if ya wanna throw in some charcoal/propane/burgers/buns/chips, we plan on feeding a bunch of folks, too.
1-gas golf cart secured. Thanks Dennis - 'Senior Fried'...........

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned, but I know our 4-legged friends are in need of help too after the storm, I saw that they're shelters are overloaded and they need help reuniting owners with their pets, and homes for some. So any help there would probably be appreciated too!

Would a clothing donation make sense at this point? Adult or kid's clothing?

i just returned home form helping clear out a families home from my wife's church. WOW is about all i can say for now. I'm beat ill post more later.words can not describe the carnage. ill post some pics later.

you could literary walk up to anyone and do something for them.

chain saws and a strong back or warm heart is always good.

    pm sent

if its appropriate, ill pass it out at the church that the hamb helping hands crew will be based out of. there a a few families that have total loss for m there.

  19. Sirens are on now in Oklahoma County. Right now, it's in the far western part of the Oklahoma County line w/Canadian County, in the Piedmont area. Another tornado has been spotted South of that one.

Jeez, I truly despise May and June in Oklahoma. Might be time to find something in Arizona. And I'm not joking.

I also talked to Ryno earlier this afternoon. I am collecting items here in Omaha and bringing my pickup with a small trailer, hopefully full of the items those affected need most.

Had an email sent out here at work to collect items. It went out to about 850 people (+ on Facebook), so I hope we can help!

    Here's what I asked for:
    Water
    Toiletries<O:p</O:p
Non-perishable food that does not need to be cooked
    Sleeping bags<O:p</O:p
    Tarps<O:p</O:p
    Rope<O:p</O:p
    Duct tape<O:p</O:p
    Flashlights<O:p</O:p
    Batteries<O:p</O:p
    Sunscreen<O:p</O:p
    Baby items: food, diapers, etc.<O:p</O:p
    Antibacterial hand wipes<O:p</O:p

Will be leaving Omaha Friday around noon and going straight to Ryno's.

You guys are awesome. We're still dealing with ours 6 weeks later and it wasn't near as bad. It makes a guy feel good to see everyone pull together like this. I've been going through my housewares to donate what I don't need to some of the less fortunate here.

    a few notes from today...
lots and lots of stories of missing or dead friends and family, people are still in total shock. lots of looky Lou's.

there was a kid that had just left his high school graduation, driving down rangeline rd( our main road through town) with his family in the car. they got caught in the twister and it sucked him outta the car through the sunroof!

we're expecting more possible tornado activity tonight, with lots of rain and more wind, which will make a mess even worse. the house i cleared today had its roof torn off, and is completely destroyed, but still standing, not a safe feeling. with all the rain expected tonight i suspect the dry wall that is still intact will saturate so badly that it will collapse the rest of what's left. to top it all off the town tornado sirens are NOT working. they tried to test them today in prep fro tonight's expected storms, with no avail.

some items that i saw a need for now to help assist us hamb helping hands crew this weekend will be:

    lights
batteries all sizes, but mostly d's and the lantern style for the cheap flashlights
    bug spray
    aluminum foil for our cooking
hand towels or paper towels, lots of wet stuff and lots of mud

i think big ken is in charge of craft services, so he will be asking for bbq supplies.

the ground is so saturated already, i got stuck going around some down power lines today with my big 4x4 super duty.

ill update as i think of more.

i spoke with the church my wife is a teacher at also to day.
we will be setting up camp in the east parking lot, i will have an easy up with the bbq grills set up there. we will cook the food here and hand deliver them to the families that are all around the area via golf carts. we are at the beginning of the seriously damaged area.

I just got home from helping a close family friend on the east side of town the damage is just as bad on the east side as it is out by the hospitals on the west. Tommy and his family were not home when it happened but they lost everything his garage roof is laying on top of his 36 dodge sedan and his 69 super bee he bought new. Strong backs and chainsaws will help tremendously many peoples homes that are still standing need debris to be moved so they can try and salvage what they have left. All help no matter what it is will be greatly appreciated by the victims

Is there a meeting place that those coming in from out of town can hook up with the group? I have a prior commitment saturday, but it could fall through. If it does, I would like to come up and help. Don't have much that I could contribute, other than I am great at manual labor.
