Perfect parking for the panel striped cars. Those squared off header flanges kick ass on that Swillco car! Looks to be a fun get together.

Wish I knew about it. I drove my Buick into town from Wisconsin today for the GM show tomorrow.

  5. Don't want to Hi-Jack this thread, but this reminds me of a story my father tells about his high school days in the mid to late 60s.

A few of the guys he went to high school with got there hands on an small unpacked cargo chute, and somehow attached it to the rear bumper of their Corvairs got up to speed and threw the chute out the window!

Dad said it was some show everyone in the Corvair went flying forward and it about ripped the rear bumper off the car!
Of course that didn't stop them from trying it a few more times!

are you pointing to the frame horn covers ?
Bolted through with the spreader bar and possibly a bolt or two under the body ?
edit : and 3 to the guards/fenders as HRP said.

  16. They are rear frame horn covers, they are bolted to the edge of the rear fenders and the spreader bar, they cover the edge of the gas tank. HRP

Thanks for posting Mark! Doesn't get any better on a Sunday morning having coffee and looking at some awesome cars. Well, maybe driving that Ardun powered roadster might be a little bit better...:D

It was fun finally meeting you. Al Hagen and I sat around my car until around 1pm. Plenty hot there.

How long have these been going on? I was in Mpls from '05-'11 and would have loved this kinda thing! Only made it to Back to the '50s 2x in that time too....

  24. That area of NE Mpls is a cool hood. Once was full of Dagos and Polish. Did not start changing until the 80s-90s. From talking to @Mpls 40 many years ago at an indoor show up there it has now become pretty trendy. Kinda miss the old Warehouse District, Sexworld and the whole area that is now the North Loop. Wish I knew you then Mark @Moriarity , I was still heavily involved in bicycles and was just getting back to my roots with cars.

Is that the legendary "Wogg" Kittleson '34?
Some of Minnesota's coolest, gathered in one neighborhood. Doesn't get much better than that. :)
    Thanks for posting.

Old fashioned was the whole idea..... 60's style build, as a matter of fact this whole website is dedicated to "old fashioned" builds...

  30. Yes. I was trying to figure out what those were. They stood out because of the color. They kind of looked like tiedown straps.

My dad has a '32 with fenders and I don't know if those covers are on it. Another thought was, 'Do most get removed on fenderless cars?'
