Couldn't help myself, I've always wanted one, so the bank accounts $750.00AU lighter but I'm a Damn sight happier, finally something to play al that kool music on. The unit is a Rock-ola, it plays 180 songs, all vinyl. I bought it from a local guy who runs a rental business, I thought it was good buying
A friend of mine bought one for her basement game room years ago at an auction house for used jukeboxes, video games, pool tables and the like. Paid like $100 for it (70s vintage...in fact, the EXACT same make and model seen in the bar Patrick Swayzee gets drunk at in the obscure 80s film "Grandview USA"!) She keeps buying 45s at garage sales to keep the selections fresh! Makes a great sound system for when we're shootin' pool or throwin' darts...kinda like being at a bar without the crowds, bad bands or scary restrooms!
Here's a shot of mine in my basement diner (obviously a work in progress). It's a '64 Wirlitzer. I bought it about a year ago for $375. (I'm still smilin'). It was full of records from the '50s and '60s. The owners had owned it for 15 yrs but had lost the key and didn't know how to open it. The selector buttons were jammed so it wouldn't play. It was an easy fix. Yep, they're a lot of fun.
Got 2 right now a 51 Seeburg (like in Arnold's on Happy Days) and A 74 AMI/Rowe consolemodel, but I built a front piece that maks it look like a Coke cooler. It's painted red and it's FOR SALE! works perfect. Anybody interested? Weighs a ton. That's not it in the picture, that's a real coke machine.
Mine found me. Never thought I could find a vintage wooden box I could afford. but I'm looking at a 50's jukebox site and I see this at the bottom of the page that stands out that looks like the classic Wurlitzer. I call the guy and its Rock-ola called a 1939 Deluxe. Huh thats odd? my old Ford coupe is a 1939 Deluxe. I got a suprize bonus at work the next day, box arrived 3 weeks later. We even changed the house floorplan around the jukebox.
A friend has told me about another one sittin on the front verandah of a un used house about a mile from my house. the guy who owns the house is abit of a nut so I've never been able to get to talk to him. may have to put the ski mask on and take a drive there late at night. I dont know what make it is, but its got a kool bubble top
that 39 is sweeeet. I'm about to build a new home aswell ( unfortunately its gonna be a standard lookin suburban home) unlike our lovely 20,s home we own now. The good thing is I've made sure the gamesroom is big enough for the bowsers, jukebox and my dodgem car.
i've got a 1956 ami g-120, bought it for $250.00 from a guy getting ready to move, & diddn't want to move it!, looks almost mint, & works great! also came with about 400 records, all old stuff....been offered $1,800.00 for it but i like it too much.....chip
It seems pricing for these things is all over the place. What amazes me is if you owned a jukebox full of vinyl WHY WOULD YOU SELL IT !! This was what I told Mrs Leebo anyway, its not an item your liable to loose money on is it !!
Some stuff/1939 Penny Phono, Wurlitzer and the other big companys were already getting five cents a play so this didnt go over with operators.
1940 Wurlitzer 850 (round top) and 1941 Victory. I cant tell you much about flathead stuff, but I know this junk.
My folks have one in their game room, right between an original Star Wars pinball machine and an older pinball. Really cool thing! I'd love to get one of those booth jukes some diners still have.
Here's the 1941 Wurlitzer that I have. Got it when I was 13 or so and restored it. Dang, cant find a picture of mine on this computer, but this one is just like the one I have. (mine has electric selector though and the one in the picture does not)
Cant find the pics of the basement diner but I have a 2400 Wurlitzer. Anyone needing vinyl can call Wurco in North Tonowanda,NY in the old Wurlitzer building. They sell stuffers, singles and even cds for the late models.
Here is ours: Its a 1952 AMI. There are multi-colored cylinders that rotate in the bottom and under the song list.
Here is my 1961 Seeburg.. Not working currently (wont pic up the record) and I can not find anyone locally to work on it.. Its been in the family sicne about 1976. I should load it in the car and bring it to Scarry so he can get it running (been 7 yrs since it worked) since he seems to be the Jukebox guru....

Those are kool lookin jukeboxes. I wouldn't mind finding one now that I have the room for one. My buddy has a 1957 AMI he's trying to find the top glass for it. later plmczy
Leebo - If that jukebox has a bubbletop, it could '57 AMI Continental. They are worth $$$$. I've got a mate in Perth who is an absolute genius with jukeboxes and games machines. If you need anything, he could probably help you out a bit. Mention you're a mate of mine (he'll charge double) His name is Rory and you can get him on 9349 4648. BTW, those Rockolas ROCK!
Hey Brootal This guy who has the bubbletop is a bit loopy but maybe I should approach him. The house its at is all overgrown with barb wire around the back garden, I stuck my head over once and its wall to wall cars including some kool stuff, there are a couple of tank fairlanes and dodge phoenix,s etc I'll see if i can get a pic
I can't explain it but I really dig the early-mid '50s Seeburgs. The art deco sides, the curved glass top, and even the grilles in some were too cool. Maybe someday I'll have one. Something like this.
Hotroddder, I guess you know that C should have light up pilasters with color cylinders in them on the lower front corners. Kinda like the one in Donzie's photo, but more squared off.
Hey Scarylarry how do you find out the age of these things, mine doesn't seem to have a date on it anywhere. I know its 70,s but I don't know how 70,s
