Event Coverage July trip to Northwest Deuce Days

My partner Tania and I had a great 2.5 week trip to Deuce Days starting in LA and driving up to Canada before flying home to New Zealand via LA

Day One

First stop the Petersen Museum



Then onto Hollywood Hot Rods



Then on to Old Crow



Then Bobs Big Boy Cruise Night in Burbank

Day Two started with our drive up the coast starting at Santa Monica pier. We stopped at Pismo Beach for the night.

Day Three



Hearst Castle then onto Golden Gate Bridge SF



And then Pier 39

Day 4

Visited Roy Brizio Street Rods who were busy getting ready for their departure the following day to Canada.



Then we called by The Rodders Journal and then onto Sid Chavers to pick up my steering wheel cover.



A special highlight was meeting with Chuck & Marsha Rodgers and viewing the Cop Shop Coupe

Day 5

Visit Sacramento Ford to meet with Andy & Sue Brizio who introduced me to Bud Bryan. Known Andy and Sue since the late nineties and have long admired the Bud Bryan era of R&C



We then drove to Redding to catch the Brocco/Brizio tour to Canada - this was their first stop

Day 6
We visited the sand dunes in Winchester Bay, Oregon



Then spent the night with John & Cynthia at the Y Not Ranch in Sisters, Oregon. It was John's 36 which inspired Tania's 36. Our visit here was one special memorable highlight for sure with beautiful scenery and a western themed town.



Next stop was the World of Speed Museum



We then pressed on to make our way to Canada to get to our friends Kevin & Jacqui to go to Deuce Days

Day 7
We made it to our friends in Canada and they took us sight seeing for the day then we caught the ferry to Vancouver Island on the Saturday morning of Deuce Days.

Day 8
We caught some of the poker run stops



We went to the very impressive Butchart Gardens too.

Back in Victoria we checked into our hotel and went for dinner. The next pics are from our walk around after dinner on the Saturday night.

Good question. Last June I separated from my wife and the Merc was her dream more than mine so she got it on the settlement.

I met Tania and got to know her and we hit it off. She's a great gal with excellent taste in cars. This is her 36 which was her late husband's last car. You might have seen it in Hop Up?

Day 9

Wow Greg, you even managed to get some shots that other posters either did not get or did not submit, really speaking my language, thanks.
And BTW, who said you can't come up with a deuce with some new details.

The next week was spent sight seeing around Vancouver etc



Then a private car collection



We went to the Old Car Centre



Went to a BBQ where Bill Lemon turned up in his roadster



Rode bikes around Stanley Park



Our hosts Kevin & Jacqui Saran took us out in their cool 33



We flew back to LA and spent the following morning in Huntington Beach



Then went to Hollyweird before flying home to NZ



We had a fantastic time seeing new places and meeting old friends and making new ones. Thanks to everyone making this trip special
