When I was about six my Dad took me to what was called the B***ett Ha! Ha! This was a local car race in the woods of B***ett. My Dad told me of the cars that he had cut up and stripped down to race in this crazy Labor Day ritual. Old Caddy's, old Ford's, and old Chevy's were set up to race on this weekend. Through the heats to the feature many cars were stalled or crashed and just left on the track to drive around or smash out of the way. Many times the track was reinvented, meaning they would go through the woods to get around a pileup. The cars that were left at the end were all lined up about about 100 feet away from each other, two lines of trunks facing trunks. The last car still moving after the mud flinging and the smoke and the fire and the smell of antifreeze and burned rubber was the winner. That is what started my interest in cars. Not the most glamorus but a lot of fun. I never got the chance to run this, due to insurance reasons and liabilities it was ended. Later on I would help my Dad with his 55 Chevy. Then, after High school, when I got my first real job I bought a 69 camaro. My brother was doing a 65 Mustang fastback, and I helped him also. Also helped my Dad with his 34 ford Cabriolet. Got the camaro to about 90% done and just lost interest in it. So i sold it. Did the Big Jeep thing. Did the Harley thing. Always had an interest in the no fender hot rods. Then my brother bought a 31' roadster. I became somewhat consumed by the hot rod thing. Or as consumed as a guy who works 55-65 hrs a week, has two young kids(4.5 and 3.5), and a wife who is understanding enough to let me pursue another project with the busy life I lead. I have enjoyed Logging on to the HAMB just to read the different things people are doing the last year and a half. I have been to many Swap meets and shows in the last 33 years so I am definitly not new to to hobby. I guess that's pretty much it. Looking forward to learning new things and meeting new people, and sharing what I know. And shootin the sh!t with others that enjoy Burning the rubber of of their sh!t too!!!!

    Thanks ,

    Cory

P.S. almost forgot the other stuff. I drive a 52' F1 ford pickup daily, have a 51' for parts or possible project, and a 33' ford pickup as a current project.
