    Checking in!
I was able to get the tins installed above the doors on my coupe project this weekend. Not too much left until I should be able to drive this thing. Still looking for a clutch to work with my T-5 and a stock A bell housing. This clutch is the last piece of this puzzle. Been talking to some fellow banger guys and hope to have one built before the Hotrod Hill Climb in August.

Please check out my build thread.

I see in another post you mentioned 1" bore, that was the size for Simca 6, I think your Simca 5 originally had a 19mm ( 3/4 ) bore master cylinder . Both are available , 19mm= 105 Euros 25.4mm bore 130 Euros.

Thank you for the info. I have a factory parts book and manual. I mentioned 1 inch because I have modified/upgraded the front brakes to Fiat Topolino C ....... these are larger than Simca and have a 1 inch wheel cylinders. I didn't want the peddle go to the floor before working

The pins and bushings were worn-out and it wouldn't pass inspection. Plus the plan is to build a C engine for this and the stock brakes are a bad joke

I've looked at this website before, They are a bit more expensive than I like

I'm going for a 1 inch Peugeot ...... this has a straight up bolt where the Topo is offset. I still need a Topo for the Fiat NSU roadster
    topo roadster..jpg

This gets a warmed over C engine most of the stuff you guys here do but with itty-bitty speed parts

Hey guys. Got the pan off my 30 model a motor. Cleaned all the sludge out and I'm ready to go back together. I thought I'd ask if I should take this screen off and clean it first.

yes !!!!!!!!!!!! also if you haven't , take the dipper tray out & clean under it . usually they come out by turning the pan upside down & slam it against a hard flat surface ..........

I'd pull the pump and work on it on the bench.
I am guessing that you just want a good performing stock Model A oil pump.
You can take the bottom plate off and pull the screen to clean
Check the gear to plate clearance. The closer the clearance and the flatter the plate, the less oil bypass and 'higher' the oil pressure.
I have a flat metal bench and lap the bottom plate back flat again using 360 grit wet/dry sand paper that I oil up like a 'wet stone' to keep the abrasive from filling up with metal. You can flip the plate over and use the back side if it hasn't been done before. The lapping process takes some time but pays dividends.
I usually forget the paper gasket and use Loctite 5699 grey high performance gasket maker.
If you pull the sheet metal outer housing make sure that you get it sealed back up. If it leaks air past where it fastens to the pump body the pump won't pump. If you study it you can see the oil enters through the bottom of the housing and is pulled into the screen to the pump inlet. The pump won't have the suction to lift the oil to the pump inlet if the housing isn't sealed. Again, I use the 5699.

    Good luck

    Larry

Is it going in an A?
If you have all the A stuff all you have to do is trim the B pan, all the stuff off the back.

Great thanks guys. Yea I pulled the tray out. Cleaned it up and the bottom of the pan. I'll pull the pump apart tomorrow and clean it up as well.
