i think the problem with the younger guys that dont appreciate pams looks , is because of the period ! you had to be there to understand . its like trying to explain the attitude of the 50/60@70's to the younger generation , or viet nam , cant be done because it was a period attitude that only those that were there can identify with . no offense to the younger people ! we were young once .
they say "when you are old ,all you have is memories" ! it is true & i would not trade my memories for age at anytime ! i like being old & having been there & done that when it was a happening !! no way to go back & experience that !!!!! just had to be there ! when history was made !
i love this new "rat rod" erra ! its like old hot rod days all over . i really enjoy the young hot rodder !!!!! thank you for keeping it alive !
thank you .... old guy steve ... thank you

I've met Pam several times at Carlisle and at the York US reunion. Nicest person you could ever meet. Very kind and friendly.

I hope that the younger folks will think sit back and think about it all.

Hi Pam. This is strange... I don't know about these other folks, but my mind just went blank! I'll say without a DOUBT you are one of the most beautiful women ever to grace drag racing. Your existence in my kid life was downright DIABOLICAL. Playboy bunnies had nothing on you AND I didn't have to hide CAR CRAFT from my Grandma! I could just leave that magazine laying around in plain sight. GENIUS.

If you get time, I'd love to hear what your best memory of touring with Jungle was. - THANKS again for dropping by...

Is that BEST memory or best memory? Winning the '75 Summernats was a high. Pranking Ivo by pushing a vending machine in front of his motel room door in Canada was a hoot.

  19. All you should be thanking Meatball for getting Pam here.

Mrs Pam I have question for you. After all these years and all that you have seen the drag racing world how do you feel about the current state of the sport? Oh and by the way welcome to the HAMB.

Thank you all for inviting me in.

    Once upon a time...

Can you believe that women weren't allowed on race tracks back in '72?
We're racing Atco, NJ. We pull the car up to the line. As Jungle suits up I go out to eyeball the track. You could find almost anything on the track 35 years ago. Nuts, bolts, open end wrenches. Up walks a track "official". He wants to know what I'm doing on the track NO WOMEN ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK!
Let's ask Jungle about that, I suggest. The track guy fills Jungle in on track policy to which Jungle replies, "If she isn't on the track I'm not racing."

    We raced.

Pam your priceless! As far as a movie go with another winner Hilary Swank JMO. A 60 year old that grew up with you so to speak! Lon

  22. Pam, its always great to have more and more people like you on board that actually lived the life. Sometimes all these young guys here dont believe the way life was in the 60s and 70s. The same way I guess we may not have imagined life in the 40s and 50s for that matter. Hope you enjoy the HAMB as much as we all do. Shoot us more cool stories of your adventures with JJ and the whole bunch involved with racing, they are interesting to us! :D

There weren't too many gals that could stand beside a funny car and you wouldn't notice the funny car.

Today's version of drag racing certainly is different than 35 years ago to be sure. I feel that drag racing by definition is a quarter mile affair. I am of the opinion that the cars should have been detuned sort of like a Nascar vehicle. And there isn't much in the way of entertainment left. The racers/sponsors seem more interested in draging more stuff to the race track. The cars are billboards. Miss those beautiful paint jobs. And the drivers were not so much like the sheltered beings they are today.

I didn't but Jungle did. I was on fire twice without the benefit of a firesuit. Jungle ran a conservative setup. We couldn't afford to blow our parts up. But I still had no interest in driving the car.
