The thing is, Pam brought a very innocent yet sexy appeal to a very male dominated sport in a time when women were not even allowed in the track.

Pam, you are an icon who will go down in the annals of racing history.

I LOVE that 64 car burn down picture.
I remember being so tired that I fell asleep standing up. We were waiting for the race to start. That was a couple hours off. I was standing between the open drivers door of our White Whale and the cab. And ... I woke up standing there. Man, those racing days could last a long time.

I would love to hear Pam's story in book form or a movie.
If Betty Page had a movie and a book about her life, I think Pam deservers one....hell I think WE deserve one.
Pam Hardy was Betty Page for car guys!

Someone needs to start selling Jungle Pam posters!!!!

I agree Pam should sell the posters but a lot of those photos are owned by the photographs, Steve Reyes, Charles Gilchrist etc.
If she can get them to let her be the distributor I would have the credit card ready!

I like the retro T-shirt idea!

Which leads me to a question for Pam. I already know that you would never trade all the memories for all the money in the world, but do you ever consider how much $$$$ you could have made in todays world?

A retro T shirt? That doesn't mean we have to order the same size we wore in '69-'70 does it?

    Great thread!

The BEST part of these 28 pages, is how a pretty woman can turn a bunch of grizzled ol' gearheads into a pool of molten Jello....

Welcome aboard Pam, this is a great place to hang out.

just wanted to add another "hello" to the list Pam..found your site by accident some months back and loved the stories and pics of you and Jim,the memories brought a tear to the eye.
he (and you of course) were hero's of mine in my younger more impressionable years.
thank you for hanging out with us on here..
makes the place even more Special.

  22. Couldn't agree with you more...this is a thread about Pam and she stands alone at the top but it helps to bring some recognition to those lesser known and they deserve some recognition too and I doubt that Pam minds if they get a little recognition too as they all traveled from track to track and I am sure Pam has a million great stories about that...there are threads about Linda Vaughan on here too and invariably other girls appear there too...once again giving those girls their recognition. Pam is first class all the way and its obvious she is loved as this thread is fast approaching 100K views!

    Pam!
First, welcome, second, uuhhh.......would you like to go dancing sometime? :)

Seriously, as a Pontiac historian and Pontiac engine builder, (Rock 'N' Roll Engineering is my shop,) do you remember you guys ever racing Jess Tyree? Back in the day he ran Firebird bodies.

Jess is a pal and I've heard SO many stories from him and his main crew guy, Mike Lieby, plus he used to run one of my engines and I hauled his butt back east on a mini tour about 9 years ago. I'm just curious if you had any memory racing him or whatever. (The "whatevers" are sometimes more fun than the racing!)

    Good to hear from you.

Pam, I know you don't rember but we talked back in "65", it was a night race.
I was running a black Chevelle in "A" stock at Maple Grove when the pits were dirt and the staging lanes were gravel.
Times have really changed but I'll always remember it.
