I'm surfing Pam Hardy's web page & looking at pics. Wife is standing behind me & she stops me. That's you in that pic!

That's me- standing by the back of Jungles friggin' car!
I gotta find out how to get a copy of this pic!

If it's not me- it's my double.

Back in the 60's we roamed OCIR, Lyons & Irwindale(that's OCIR Manufacturers Meet 68) looking for funny cars that wanted to be waxed. Waxed some of the best back then. No pay- got to be around the car & they always fixed up us with lunch for our effort!
I don't know what the hell I'm doing in that shot though..... Checking paint or wheel or daydreaming of Pam I guess ;)

I had forgotten all about this until now.

Wife's cool w/ looking at the pics. She spotted me before I did.

    BTW- Happy birthday Pam!!!!:D

Well I've been reading thru the 40+ pages of this thread the last few days and behind me are some pictures I took in Englishtown so I ran them thru the scanner. July 27, 2003 was E-Town's Funny Car Reunion and I heard Jungle Pam was going to be there. Looked all over the pits for you Pam (they call that stalking today) and finally spotted you. I introduced myself and you were gracious enough to pose for a pic for me. Like everyone here I grew up adoring you, albeit thru the magazines of the day. Glad you're a member and a frequent visitor to the board.
The second pic is of you backing up Bruce Larson. It was a great day meeting a drag racing great and alot of original Funny Cars!

  25. I think that what made her so darn sexy was her confident attitude and probably not caring too much what other people thought of her. I agree with the other posters - I really don't care for the silicone-enhanced Barbie dolls that everyone else finds so attractive! Give me the Jungle Pam's, the Catherine Bach's, and the Jan Smithers of the world. (Ha, see if you can remember who Jan Smithers was!!!)

It's nice to know that Pam is a genuinely nice lady. I never met her, but on the subject, I got to meet Catherine "Daisy Duke" Bach a few years back. She was also one of the SWEETEST, NICEST, & down to earth people that you'd ever want to meet. It was also not her "turning on the charm for her fans" because we talked in private for a long time before she made her way over to the table where she was going to make her appearance and sign autographs. At the show, she spent a ton of time with each kid that asked for her autograph and a photo, and spent even more time with the special needs kids that were there. People waited an incredibly long time to see her and to get an autograph, but she made sure that everyone got to spend a little time with her and to get all of the photos and autographs that they wanted even though it was 90* outside.

Baily (Jan Smithers) was MUCH better than Jenifer.

  28. I don't want to derail the thread, so...

A few times I pitted for a friend of mine who used to own Pop Whitt's old "Hippie Hemi" Duster FC and there is NOTHING in the world like straddling the frame rails and hanging on to that big ol' starter motor and having a few thousand horsepower Hemi cackling just a few inches away from the family jewels... If for no other reason, Pam deserves a ton of respect for just "being there" and working with the car in the noise and the heat... It's tough work!!!
