Hi Atomic, We met last year at the carwash in Salina. Let me say again how much I like where you are going with your clone of Jr's coupe. This is going to be a very nice car. I remember Junior's car in Pueblo in the late '50's, early 60's when it was owned by the Zupan bros. The most perfect shoebox of all time IMHO. I'm anxious to see how yours turns out. See you @ KKOA this summer?
I posted this before, so it may be old news to you guys, it was related to me by a friend, and I believe it's true. The original car ended up door deep in mud in a small junkyard near me here in Pa. It got here by a GI who brought it back from Alaska. My buddy bought it off a used car lot, drove it for a while, then sold it to a friend under the condition that he'd let him have first shot at it if he decided to sell it. Well, he didn't, and sold it to a stranger and they lost track of it. A while later he heard it was in the Junk yard, it was in bad shape, and this was at a time when customs weren't worth anything, so no one thought it was worth saving, it eventually got crushed. He doesn't tell too many people that story, because he says he feels guilty about it. Cool that it's gettin' cloned.
Great to hear a clone is being built. I have often wondered if somebody would do so...I know I would if I could afford it! Interesting story on the demise of the car, Roddinron...too bad...
