I had enough left over FRP to cut trunk liner panels for the Hemi Roadster from, and almost enough of the rubber mat I used for "carpet" to do the floor. It's pieced under the battery but who cares? I'm going to upholster the interior using some Olefin outdoor furniture material we bought for another project and never used, and the one burgundy leather hide left from the DeSoto project. So, it's still contributing to the roadster build. The license plate was a fun project I'd never tackled before. I blasted the old finish off, shot it with bright yellow as a base, then fogged a very light coat of gloss black over that. This morning I used some 3M Super Duty compound on a rag by hand and just polished through the black on the lettering. It turned out really great, looks original, but not ratty.
Oops, left out the material/leather laid out on the front seat. I think the plaid is mid 50's period perfect, and will be much more durable than the NOS 50's plaid seat cover fabric I was going to use.
I've had my eye on that gas tank for a while, wasn't sure which direction I was going to go. Seeing it installed in a hot rod seals the deal! Love it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this Brian. I'm with Scotto on the tank, it looks great and what I've been looking at to replace my "fuel cell" in the coupe.
