Fond memories of my folks packing our '41 Dodge for a Christmas trip from Texas to Northern California. Packing-unpacking-repacking reunpacking...........until the trunk would almost close then Dad secured it with baling wire. The rear floorboard was stacked even with the seat to make a bed for my brother & me amongst the Christmas presents. Dad drove straight through with a couple of rests while Mom drove. There was the usual shoe box with cried chicken and boiled eggs. There was no room for one of those fancy ice chests. We always left Friday night after Dad got off work. Breakfast in Gallop & box lunch in Flagstaff after a stop at an Indian bakery for bread & apple turnovers. Jingle all the way!

If you can't get enough booty in the boot, you need a ute. A 4wd will get you deeper into the forest.......
