Junk Yard search......

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kustom55, Jun 21, 2004.

  1. I am looking for info on any noteworthy junkards, scrap yards, car graveyards in Texas. I use to comb Memory Lane when I lived in SoCal and I see a bunch here but dont know if there are any dedicated to older cars or not.

    My junkyard secret, applicable anywhere:

Forget the rows of cars--there's nothing there except '82 Cutlasses and Suaru Wombats.
The good stuff turns up in the scrap section, stuff dragged out of ancient piles behind barns, factories, and military bases. Learn to ID parts and use your imagination.
Also, keep an eye on truck section--really old stuff is still being junked over there. And old industrial engines on generators and compressors have neat old gauges and other hardware.
