I am looking for info on any noteworthy junkards, scrap yards, car graveyards in Texas. I use to comb Memory Lane when I lived in SoCal and I see a bunch here but dont know if there are any dedicated to older cars or not.
Why is it that everybodys junkyards is a secret they take to the grave. I know I want all the parts for myself too.
[ QUOTE ] You ain't been here long enough, yet. [/ QUOTE ] LOL, please? I just want to look. Thanks leadsledsolds for the info.....now it OUR secret!!!
My junkyard secret, applicable anywhere: Forget the rows of cars--there's nothing there except '82 Cutlasses and Suaru Wombats. The good stuff turns up in the scrap section, stuff dragged out of ancient piles behind barns, factories, and military bases. Learn to ID parts and use your imagination. Also, keep an eye on truck section--really old stuff is still being junked over there. And old industrial engines on generators and compressors have neat old gauges and other hardware.
