I know Im bringing this one back from the dead. But I just seen it looking for something else. This is funny. All three of the yards mentioned in here I have scored big time at. And all three of them old goats have become good friends. Ray over off 157 puts on a good show as how to be a asshole but me and him has burnt a lot of gas out looking and buying junk. Byron over on 36 is one of the coolest cats around. Don talked about him being high he might be on things but guess what you drove a few miles and didn't have to pay shipping either. So that's worth something. Ingrams well that's a challenge. You take him a lead on a old stock car or a stock car part you found the way in. But out side of that. You better dig deep if he even prices it. I like going to any of the three just to shoot this shit. Keep in mind there is 30+ years between us so I get some free schooling when I can.
Just ran across this thread. I know the post is 2008, but does anybody know if any or all of these cars are still there, the anglias, henry j, 29 truck ??. if they are, I'll head out now.
i need a set of 48-50 ford f-1 front fenders for another build. any leads would be appreciated, mark 678-713-6220
I know a guy in central Mississippi that has a treasure trove of old cars. He is on Hwy 503 in Hickory. He has some late model stuff but he doesn't crush anything 70s and earlier. Lately he has had poachers sneaking in and stealing aluminum wheels and old radiators so he is a little leery, But he has some decent builders and parts cars . I will try to load a few pics I took yesterday.
The Pontiac was driven in a few years ago with a slipping automatic trans. The interior was nice, didn't see if it was baked. The Cad is a parts carhas several years of them, and the Packard is rough.but a possibility.
1955 Ford two door wagon has a emblem on the front that says Thunderbird Power or something to that extent. It looks complete but rough, I think it has a 3 speed overdrive in it. At a yard in Hickory Ms name of Charles Harrison. 601 646 2210 Like the owner mentioned in Alabama, he is a car guy, will sell, but does not respond well to idiots. Shouldn't be many of those guys into old cars tho, huh?
I talked to Mr. Ingram at the Gadsden cruise in friday. He told me that he had not brought in anything new in over 2 years. His price is 2550 on every thing. That way he does not forget what he tells you................................................................................. The yard { actually 2 yards}} in Morgan city is` closed at this time. Both the grand father and the dad have passed away. If and when they will reopen is up in the air at this time..........
Went there a few times. Mr Ingram prices his stuff like it is 2005 and Boyd Cottington is buying. Nice guy though and some interesting stuff in the woods if he will let you look.
