I'm in a picture posting mood tonight, so I thought I would post these 3 Mercs taken in the early '80's. I just found these laying about in the archives. Enjoy! Joel
[ QUOTE ] This is a beautiful one from WisTexas some where. Circa 1982. [/ QUOTE ] Catchy State name..., Wonder how that came about....? Looks like Joel and I have had parallel lives...! We've been to the same shows, the same years, and have photo's of the same cars...!!!!! Thanks Joel Mark
Hey Wingnutz, I can't help using your tagline for the Cheesehead state! Do you remember the Mid Century Mercury club show on Memorial Day back then. I went to two or three events in a row from "80 to "83. Do they still hold this event at the U of W, Kenohsa campus. Is it still going on? I would love to attend it this May. Joel
Haven't been there for years...! It was a good event so I'd have to think that it's still going...(?)! I'll check with my southern Buddies about this event... Later Mark
The Mid Century Mercury Club founder passed away a while back and the club is no longer. Rusty was a very good man.
Thanks 19Fordy. That's a shame, they put on a helluva good show back then. So nobody else took it over, huh? As soon as I can them digitized, I have more pics from those shows. That show had many, many nice rides in attendance. I still have one of their club patches, too. Joel
Very nice pics. I like the roadster in the background also. It doesn't seem like '82 was almost 23 years ago. pigpen My how the time and the booze will fog your mind!
The orange one was owned by a real nice guy named Dick Crouthers and was also black at one time.If I remember correctly which I probably do ,the car had a HEMI.
The guy with the white mercs had some taste in rear view mirrors! He must be having a field day today. Its unusual to see a 54 Poncho grille used with stock 50 parking lights.
Anthony, that's right, it was black with gold or copper scallops. I got pics of it somewhere in the deep recesses of the archives. I gotta get 'em out and will post. Joel
