  1. New shorter c brake lines look much better ….

    … as compared to this:

Tye 1970-72 Monte Carlo hoses and e about 3” shorter - just enough to get the big loop out.

  2. My good friend Jacksandeuces confirmed that the disc brake backing plates were indeed his idea and he showed me an article for that conversion in American. Rodder from January 2003:

Not having had the article when I started this, I did not do the article nterior line run so the brake hose cones out like in stock juice brakes. But, I am still very happy with the outcome!

What’s old is new again - thank you, Jack!

TomT. I wanted to thank you for the well written and documented build thread. Binge read it over the last week or so. Learned some tricks and enjoyed the sense of hotrod community you are blessed with. Looking forward to your further adventures!

Hey @TomT any update on this gal?

  10. You are right - I have not updated it in awhile. The db setup works great. We had a few bumps in the road to get it going but it has worked very well. It does stop well and I have confidence that if I ever took it to the drag strip I could stop after my run!

Like any other build there’s always something to “change or improve” and most notably for me is removing the stock seat springs and replacing them with foam. I did this with great success on my old 40 coupe but alas, my 40 Pickup buikd here on the forum has been taking up all my time. Then it’s just little things like a cup holder for drinks which I found an insert for used in pickup truck consoles that was the right size to fit right behind the shifter. That and a little self stick velcro strips on the bottom of it has worked quite well to keep it in place ….

The next thing was to have a small case for the reggie, ins id, and other small stuff that door pockets can do but are too big and things get tough to find.I have a nice package tray behind the seat and I have bern looking for a small leather pouch that had that well worn look that would sit in that tray to hold those items. Well, while traveling this past summer I found a ladies handbag setup that was perfect in Siena, Italy of all places and Italian leather is well known for its softness and well worn look …..

This was actually a double - two snapped together back to back. So, I now have one in my coupe and one for my avatar. I hope to be able to use the snaps to attach them to the upper area of my kick panels ….

The roof insert is the final thing and that might be a job to get help with. I don’t know If I want to go with a stock insert setup or put in a metal panel covered with material like D-russ did on his vickie. We shall see ……

But, I drive the coupe all over the place and everywhere. I just had it out this am to get a haircut and I am always in it doing errands. Once the 40 pickup is done I will probably run through the roadster again with some redos and updates and that will be chronicled here on the hamb …..
