Finally back from a road trip south and getting a fire under me ****.
Heading to Kelowna to pick up some parts and finally going to start on the releases for the doors.
I'm now debating on the motor exchange and leaving towards keeping the flatty for this coming summer. It's running great and long hauls, everything comes in how comfortable you feel.
This winters project time is going to get cut short as the Mrs and I are buying a place in Desert hot Springs to hang our hats. Snowbirds.... pretty soon I'll be looking for them earlybird specials.
The bonus is now I need to find a car to build down there...hmmmmmmmm.

Got a little shop time and been fine tuning a back up door release for when ( not if) the Solenoids **** out. I may have time to get them installed before I head south. If not, it'll be spring project I guess.

Can I ask how it is driving with a white dash? Is it distracting at all?

Did the bumpers in Eastwood's Aluminum finish, then clear coated.

Snows starting today so a good reason to crank the tunes and get the 4 final panels done.

    Time to git dirty.
Plucking the Flathead and OD for that Tbird 302 auto.
It wasn't a quick decision, I mean the motor runs great, the OD od's just fine and I have a brand new reconditioned Stromberg 97 on there so why mess with it right?

Had to count the plus and negatives before the hood came off. The wiring is bad so I need to install a new Rebel Wiring kit. If I'm going to do that, now's the time to convert two 12 volt. I want to do some long hauls like Viva Las Vegas so even though its of sound driving condition, now's the time.

Off comes the hood, out comes the rad... here we go, no turning back now.

good chance to detail that engine bay.

Next week maybe i'll have all the goodies to install the 302....
My HAMB Approved REBEL wiring kit awaits in the wings.

    Getting a little closer.
A friend sent up a mustang rear sump for me.
Soon she'll be back together cradled on a pair of Jamsco motor mounts.

  21. Nice engine stand. lol.
Motor looks great. I don't envy you doing the engine bay one bit. I've been welding, filling, sanding mine for a week.

Played around with a couple different oil pans - both mustang. Tomorrow I'll crawl under the car and clean up a few residuals like the stock exhaust and clutch pedal and over the weekend with a little luck, drop her in place.

Clutch pedal removed, exhaust removed, overdrive switch removed, Motor ready to hoist into the air when suddenly I discover the transmission adapter plate is missing from the ( God Bless) AMERICAN MADE Jamco suspension adapter kit.

Tune in when in 3 weeks Freddie finally gets to lower the motor into the shoebox. @%@#%@#%^@^@^@ !

Well, at least you got the oil pan dilemna solved. Or, you have 3 weeks left to solve it all over again!

Still waiting for the missing link but moving along anyhow.
With the motor settled in and a rad from a 74 ford F150 w/ a 390 ( I put the 390 in my 57 Ranch wagon) I'm getting ready to pull the rear end. A maverick rear is on its way.

I was stoked with how little cutting was needed on the ****** hump with the C4 to slip into place.

I'm keeping the column shift- because I like it, and the stock linkage was a perfect mate. Park is about 2 o'clock, drive is about 4 o clock. May 1st is when she needs to be all sewn back together and ready for cruising!

Your Ranch Wagon now resides in Oklahoma. Getting ready for new paint and headliner! Don't worry, its in very capable hands!

New driveshaft installed and a custom transmission mount made to fit.
Next thing on the do list: Sew up the minor cuts in the transmission hump needed to slide the ****** into place; new transmission lines; new wiring. I can almost smell spring in the air.

Looks great. Question about the rear. How much clearance do you have with the driveshaft for the floorpan behind the frt seat pan. I'm running 3 in blocks and had to cut the area behind the frt seat for more room but not sure if it's enough.
