I have been working on my Mercury. I have a '50 that I was pretty close to being done with the body work and started to question if I should chop it a little. After a post on the HAMB and looking at pictures, decided to do a small chop.

Here is a picture or two of how it is going. What do you think of the angle of the back window? I put it where I thought it would flow best but open to opinions. I lowered the front 2 inches and 2 1/2 in the back.

    Thanks. Neal

Even a small chop looks good on those cars....nice.

  3. kinda hard to tell without the deck lid in place but i think you got it. looks good. do yourself a favor and set your rear window in place to make sure it fits correctly before you do your finish welding. i learned that the hard way. your car in general looks real nice.

  4. looks great so far , keep us posted on your progress..

    Hey Neal,

I like the flow, but you may wanna relocate the rearlight up a few
inches for visibility sake. On a chop, looks ain't everything!

Kinda funny. The wife wondered if we could see out it. I told her it did not matter if it looked good. Back to the "form over function".

Good point, I will have sit in it and see. Now is the time to make the changes.

    Thanks. Neal

  12. I think it looks pretty good. I would roll it outside so you can stand back a little and get a better picture. Keep us updated.

  13. I didn't know you were building a Merc......looks good. I cut the back window out of mine 4 times before I was happy with it.
