Gulp. I've been reading the HAMB for a couple of years; actually signed up months ago, but... I'm not much of a poster, so I've just been sitting back like the new kid at the school dance, watching everybody else have all the fun. Then it kinda struck me how the people on the HAMB are my kind of people, and I ought to get off my ass and start talking. As a group, you all remind me of the dudes (and dudettes) that I hung around with in high school, wrenching on cars under naked 100 watt bulbs in freezing garages so we could go terrorize the town and make that occasional awe-inspriing trip to the drags in Irwindale or Riverside. I'm 52, almost 53 now, and as somebody in American Grafitti said to John Milner, "you can't stay 17 forever." Yeah, well, hot rodding (meaning the things the HAMB holds dear) has a way of linking generations and keeping us all young, whether you're 19 or 90... the 9/16th inch wrench doesn't care how old you are. Turning it is what matters. Now, let's go do burn outs...
