According to the other thread I created just about the stanchions. It appears 32 and 30/31 deluxe upper stanchions are the same height. Therefore, my repro 2" chopped 32 upper stanchions I just ordered should correspond with a 2" chopped repro deluxe windshield frame. The ONLY reason I am going this route is I want chrome and to buy an already chopped and chromed frame is 450 bucks (roughly) here in 2024. For me to chop a stock one and have it chromed would cost a lot more than that and I want the windshield to look flawless.... its just one of those focal points and sadly is gonna cost me! At least the upper stanchions were only 99 bucks to my door! A 2" chop like yours looks spot on to me!

I hope this works out.!.! But, just incase, and if you can, verify with putting your eyes on something that uses the same.I was all over the place trying to verify the same, and just leaned mine back a bit, like 45* (stockers).......;). I could never get a definitive answer, nor saw actual parts as such.........Everyone say's, but does everyone do?

Believe it or not (and I know its hard to...) I paid 190 bucks for this shipped to my door. Screenshot_20241203_171653_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20241203_171710_eBay.jpg
I was struggling with paying 500-1200 dollars for a firewall. So far this project has next to nothing invested. The roadster I am currently finishing I only have about 2k in so far. It would be really neat to see how inexpensive I can keep this model a roadster while still building a show car and not cutting any corners for quality! I will tell you this; I am thoroughly excited for the challenge of recreating the rest of this firewall from scratch! Finally have my 32 firewall for the roadster....sorta...kinda....almost...soon

Did the 32 chopped stanchions work out? Where did you buy them?

Progress is still inching along on this one. Got the block cleaned up and painted and my cam installed 20250903_175617.jpg
Also decided to use these looms, I think they'll fit the build. After seeing the block red I definitely am rethinking my color options!

Stuck a few stromberg 97s on top for fun, undecided on 94s vs 97s

I also made a front gen mount so I can run an idler and a fan, much like Scott Millers roadster

I used a 35/36 stock aluminum intake for this. There used to be some made aftermarket but they are hens teeth these days.

Not that any of our opinions matter, but I dig the dark Red much more.

Agreed! Also, I enjoy and appreciate opinions! The old red was just a bit bland for a show car

Red is my go to color for flatheads (and Hemi) and I like both your choices. The darker looks nice and rich!

The picture really highlights how the first was 'industrial basic red' considering it's the same as the stand and the fire extinguisher!

Thanks Dave, yeah I agree, red screams hot rod!
I agree, only thing I might change is doing a similar color with more flake. I might just leave it too, I dig the color

You can always just shoot flake in a suspended clear over that red you like, then throw a coat or two of clear over the top to seal the flakes. I used a product by Big Daddy Roth, spray can, different color and size flakes available. Apply over your dry base, then clear. Just an idea if you like your color but want to add flakes to it.
