We've got this little camera at work that's sort of a helmet-cam affair. We've all been taking turns mounting it on off-road trucks, motorcycles, and such.

Today I duct taped the mount to my hat and went for a drive in the roadster.

This is raw, unedited footage so don't expect "American Graffiti" or anything.

Just kinda screwing around with it. There's lots more places on the car I'm gonna try to mount this thing.

Yea, it was one of those goofy looking visors like golfers wear. I took it off when the camera was off. :)

I'll bet everyone thought you had a bad head wound and you were trying to get yourself to the hospital......hahaha..

If you want to really impress us, turn the camera backwards and then get yourself into a police pursuit...:D:D:D

    It's called "ContourHD" Wearable Camcorder.

The company bought it so I don't know the price.

    You need a soundtrack!
I was thinking of the Loverboy "Turn me loose" song
but I remembered something much better...

"Drive" by Frog Holler a very underrated bunch of musicians from their album "Adams Hotel Road"

On a more open road like that I would! :)

What you heard was mostly wind noise. The car runs just fine.

Needs a lot more than just a sound track. :)

Tried another one today. This time the camera is zip tied to the windshield post.

Just a quick trip around the block.

Turn your sound down 'cause this camera picks up tons of wind noise.

I bought a couple of GoPro's a while back to tape my track "adventures" with my MINI Cooper and found the wind noise and sound quality to be just too awful, part of the enjoyment for me of watching vids like this is to hear the engine - especially if it's shifting gears - and to hear all of those various and sundry sounds that make up our cars, whether it's header noise,******* whine or whatever.

I really liked the small size and unobtrusiveness of these small cameras and the vid quality is amazing - GoPro even has an HD version out now - but again, the sound*****s!

I went back to using a regular video camera in my MINI, a couple of layers of black race car tape over the mic opening takes care of most of the wind noise and yet still lets you hear the engine and supercharger whine....and the new ones are really pretty small too. I made a bracket out of a piece of 1" sq aluminum tubing, drilled a few holes and mounted it to the pasenger side headrest with some small u-bolts. The camera mounts to a regular tripod mount head bolted to the tube which lets the camera be completely adjustable and the view is at about the same height as my eyes. Works a treat...and cheap to make.

    I completely agree! :p

That's why on the second one I posted I recommended turning the sound off.

    How's this*****ogy sound???

A socialist or corrupt country has to keep people out to stem the tide of beggars
A free and lawful country has little need for quotas to keep people with skills and desire out and the beggars will go looking somewhere else for a handout...unless the rest of the world is really bad out there...
A free and lawless country has it all good and bad The good come freely work hard and prosper but the beggars act out as desperadoes, instead of asking they take.

I kept waiting for you to loose it and make a dash around 4-5 cars at a lick to get to some open road! Glad you didn't and thanks for the education on cameras for this use. I noticed your outside mirrors seemed pretty steady but that jittery inside mirror would make me go crazy. That original style mirror has to be really tight and oem thickness material to stay still.
