just getting started '56 Ford Mainline

Are your fenders rusted out around the headlights, I need a patch panel for that area both sides. Talked to EMS nothing in the works from them. I wonder if 55 and 56 are the same?

I wish EMS had been making these when I had to replace my lower panels on the wagon,,it would have saved us a lot of time fabricating them from scratch.

If your jambs are solid, then there's no need to cut them out, the way you did yours is the way I typically do mine, unless it's rotted into the jamb, then there's not really a choice. Looks like you're doing good work, keep it up.

 

What did you use for the cross member?

The crossmember was made out of some 10 gauge sheet steel. The worst part was the reverse engineering from a pile of rust!
