With all of the wheeling and dealing going on...would you sell your car if someone said, how much, I've got cash? I did a HAMB search and didn't really find the answer.

If it was an offer I couldn't refuse, I'd sell it.

    At my age, no.
I hope to build another, but would not want to be without a driver at any price.

how much cash do you have to spend? an old saying is "everything is For Sale", if the price is right. know a guy that has gone to a Goodguys show and bought 4 cars. two of them had For Sale signs. he did not flip them, just likes having lots of cars. some guys would never sell certain stuff, at any price.

No one's car is better for me than the one I built myself.

I rebuilt an OT '72 Kawasaki motorcycle and people were making me offers for it when I was driving it around this weekend. I can't see myself getting rid of it, unless it's for a crazy amount of money...

I think that sums it up, but I guess the hole in my heart could always be filled with a couple more vehicles...

    For the right price, sure.

  12. I wouldn't. Neither of the two.
Unless we're talking ridiculous numbers, and I know that's not going to happen.

If this thread goes the way others have, there will emerge two schools of thought:

    1) Everything has its price,

    and

    2) No, it doesn't.

I'm in the second school. Bill Gates doesn't have enough money to buy my truck.

I have I one that I can't sell and one that would take a whole hell of a lot to get.

My Willys is the no sale, 36 I'm heavily attached to, it would take more than its worth by a long shot.

I have a list of 4 cars/trucks i want to own in my life, and at the moment my first build is one of those 4...so for this one no amount would take it, but if you were to offer me one of the other 3 then i guess i would.
As long as i own a rod/classic/ street rod and its one of these 4 then all is good...

I still own the first car I ever bought 1972 Formula Firebird
I bought it new in May of '72 I would never sell it! Way too many reasons!
I bought the '57 in 1984 and also will not sell it.
It was my first built and it represents me very well.
Sure I have a bucket list, but they would have to be in addition to those two!

I have two hot rods I built, one could go anytime, the other I will see if I can get buried in. It's funny how you can get so attached to one vehicle and another one doesn't mean that much, even though I built it from the frame up.

I would have to be offered WAY more than the car is worth. Like enough to buy a driver and the stuff to start building another.
I highly doubt I will run into someone that stupid with that much money.

Sure, if the price was right. Everything has a price.

  24. if somebody walks up to me with enough dead president trading cards in the right denominations he can own ANYTHING i have

  25. I have two that would be tough, but if my family needed me to, I'll sell em without a doubt

  26. Everytime I'm asked "How much I want?", I answer "Make me an offer I can't refuse". It's easier to go up on their offer than yours.

Yes. I'm fairly new in this game (5 or 6 years). Started with a 53 dodge 4 door that I made some improvements on. Liked it but sold it for a little money to buy a 54 chevy 2 door. When I get done with my sweat equity I hope to do the same with this one. It'd be ideal if someone approached me to buy it when it wasn't techinally 'for sale'. More bargaining power I think.

Well I have been informed by family members that while my cars are in my name I can't sell any of the three I currently have. One I have owned 36 years one was built for the wife (she never drives it) the other was purchased new by my late father. Yeah I'm stupid but nobody has enough money! No the cars aren't that nice but they do represent "FAMILY".

More than one guy has been asked that question. They thought they were putting a stupid high price on their cars but they were called on it. Now they say they priced their cars too cheap and wish they had them back!

The amount would have to be enough for me to not only build another hotrod, but enough to get an old car daily driver. And even then, I'd think about it a long time.

Me and Miss Behavin' have gone through a lot together. It would be VERY hard.
