Similar thing happened to me, I was working under a 4x4 Toyota, seated on a bucket. I finished a weld set the gun on my leg to stand up to move the bucket seat to the next location. Gun moved and my leg hit the trigger, running the red hot wire right through my pants and burnt the shit out of the trouser snake.

Been there, done that. That wire goes straight through your glove like a hot knife through butter aye. Bet you won't do it again in a hurry.

One time I was sitting Indian style welding above my head, slag fell into my lap and burnt my junk, that hurt. Much more carefull of the junk now. Do you ever have slag jump on you and you hear it sizzling, but you know by the time you stop what your doing to chase it away it will be gone anyway, so you just keep welding? Not the case of my junk burn, but many others.

Ive got welding stigmata on both feet, burns everywhere spatter can get to,put .035 wire straight through my finger(out the side) ,got caught on fire, but my favorite is dropping the hot TIG torch on my thigh. It leaves a perfectly cooked hole that doesnt wnt to heal, and talk about itching for months

Last winter, was sitting on a milk crate , cold garage, miggin in some recessed buckets in the sled for turn sigs. and thought man that's a lot of smoke, must have undercoating burning, flipped up helmet , look behind the fender no fire ? Thought huh? strange.
Went back to welding then it starting getting really, reallly hot flipped up the hood again and the flames hit me in the face.
Raggy ass work shirt on fire, big time.
Still don't have real eyebrows

In '02 I was laying under my car welding a bracket onto the frame and spatter went straight down my ear. I have never felt pain like that before. Burnt my ear drum real bad and caused permanent damage. Surgery has brought some hearing back but I still have a hole in my ear drum.

WEAR EAR PLUGS WHEN WELDING OVERHEAD!
