Technical Just how long will I have to use the high zinc oil

A lot of sacred cows on here.

 

At my work we sell pretty much every major brand of oil, and I used to run Rotella T because of the zinc load. But I called them one day to ask about the current formula and their tech guy told me their Triple Protection was the only one that still had enough zinc in it to be effective. But, on a flat tappet engine, I still would either use and additive or one designed with a high load.

I just picked up a 5 quart container of Lucas Hot Rod and Classic Car oil for the 350 crate motor I put in my rpu, and will break it in and run that on every oil change. Like the techs who come into my work say, "Oil is the cheapest thing you will ever put into your motor." Amen.
