Found this board the other day and love all the info. I have 2 1/2 Model A's that I inherited from my father in 1998. He worked on the roadster for over 20 years off and on keeping it all original and then had plans for a rod for the other coupe. Unfortanetly, he passed away in '98 in his 50's and never go to finish them. I will be starting on the coupe body this winter keeping it a flyer style traditonal rod. I'm 32 years old and just trying to soak in all the info I can before I start. Thanks for knowledge. I've included some pics [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG]
Welcome, You keep a nice shop. And it looks like you have enough to keep you busy for a while. Sorry about your dad, but I'm sure you remember him every day you work on the rods. Good luck.
Got yourself a good start for some long term projects, should keep you busy for a while. You've came to the right place to learn, especially when it comes to the traditionall styled hot rods of yesteryear. I might suggest that you just cruise on over to the tech section for your first stop, lots of good info there, and it answered alot of my questions being fairly new to the scene, I had only helped build 3 traditional cars before I joined up here.
Thanks, guys. My first order of business is starting on the chassis. My specialty lies in welding and fabricating, but I can't decide on buying a frame already made or doing it myself. It is going to be Z'd so much in the back and some in the front with a suicide front end that I'm thinking about just starting from scratch.
Welcome, You might be able to buy a rolling chassis off the Hamb classifieds, or a swap meet. This would speed up the traditional rod build. It is always the same, either have the parts with no time to build -OR- have the time, with out the funds. Maybe someone will PM you with a sweet deal on a rod frame?
Looks like you are gonna have some fine rods when you get them finished. It looks like you have a good spot to work on them. Be sure to post some pictures of your progress when you starts working on them.
Nice start!! Sorry to hear about your pops but looks like he left you some great memories. Now let's see ...........which one first? Fitysix
Nice collection, better that they were getting restored than street rodded, You have plenty of fine ford parts there. Look after them.
I'll be sure to post pics of my progress etc. Finding a lot of great info on the tech board, I didnt notice it till bigd4xman pointed it out.
Yes, we have a garage full of Model A parts that I've been protecting for almost 10 years. Not only do I love these cars but Im doing it for my dad and it helps me remember and pay respect to him. Its a cool connection to pick up where he left off and finish some of these.
Welcome , I don't have alot of posts but I check out the fellows on here on a daily basis, awesome place to hang out and as bigd4xman said, check out the tech section, tons of priceless info and ideas that you would not get any where else unless.................... your neighbor is a Hot Rod God. Your dad had it in his blood, looks like you do too. Got some nice iron there. Bob.

Alright, Alright hold it right there!! Obviously you didn't read the damn rules when you signed up. There is a 2 Model A limit around here. Just send me your address, and I will be right over to get those other vehicles out of your way!! Oh ya, welcome and good luck.-MIKE
cool cars to start with, looks like you have some great parts, did i spy a set of Kelseys on the one a coupe?? we are`all just "keepers" of history here, i dont think i "own" my two rods, i am just the caretaker of them!~!
If you don't want to do the frame yourself from scratch... Join the HAMB Alliance then hit up Killer for a custom frame. He builds them similar to the frame you decribed and offers a great discount to Alliance members. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104989
