It is cool...seriously. The staggered short runs are a a great exercise in restraint. I am surprised they didn't make a special die and punch for it as you can see the obvious dynamics fighting in the outcome...but maybe you can't...despite that old Hotrod's rock and so do Louvers...;)

What's even cooler is that all four sides of the hood were chromed, then painted purple with just the chrome louvers showing on the original car. God, I never should have sold that!

There was another Hotrod recently with chrome louvers exposed...it is another of those amazing period details that just add a bit more awesome to the awesome...

Yes, sold it about 4-5 years ago.
Too many cars, and it had an Olds with a 4 speed Hydro that was undriveable.
    My loss.

These were done by a vintage foot pumped/spring loaded machine by EJ Kowalski during the build 20 years ago. When I asked him to build this Lakes Modified, I kept driving him crazy saying more louvers, more louvers! PS this car is for sale on the Hamb now, trying to make room for a new build. Any pics of the Machine and craftsman in action? If he's still in biz I can add him to my list of options for Hambers...and you sure do like louvers...

Michael what is this Modified?...It is a T correct? You should put your link for your ad in your post...;)

This is a Hamber's work in progress looking purdy...with a fairly stock looking set of hood louvers...and that's just fine with me...;)

The body came from a farmer/model T collector in Wichita P1010035.JPG Kansas, still has original paint with brush "touch ups". Most everything else is vintage or hand fabricated. It was finished around 2000. I have been pounding on it ever since, weather permitting. The louver machine is buried behind many on going projects. I will see if I can take a photo of it the next time I am in EJ's shop in Reading Pa (long way away during the winter here in the mountains where I live.
