33 chevy mercury series . note the "dented" louvers to allow room for the handle to swing.

 

Apologies if a little biased with the following, but Tony's old coupe speaks to me....

 

I love lovers and these I did on my A View attachment 3290776

 

When I bought new 28-29 CCPU extended quarters, we punched louvers before assembling the cab

 

Stuff like that is so cool...attention to detail...alot of that has been lost today. Great observation TB and thanks for sharing that. I was trying to find pics of vintage factory louver work but came up empty. That hand clearance would have been an engineered feature however.

Frank, some of my submissions (and many others) are just photos of various louver styles and layouts that we like and have sourced from the internet.

This reminds of this car I took a picture of at the Depot Town cruise night in Ypsilanti several years ago.

 

H.A.M.B.er Xman's coupe from Tom Davidson's Puyallup thread. I am honored to have been chosen to do the roof insert louvering for this car.

 

Just put these in a "hood" for a '55 Chevy gasser

 

Something different but kinda cool

 

So Tiki are you going to splice this back to the main bulk of the hood or is it a partial hood with a behemoth 409 sticking out
