Looks awesome Glen...they just belong there really...the Coupe is really coming together nicely...you've got a shiload of sanding ahead of you but it is just understood as hand in hand with the procedure...you should share a pic of your homebuilt press...we like everything about louver's here, not to mention how Smiths such as yourself personalize them many times.

Keep us up on your louver work here...I'll bet you are punching a few more before it's done...cheers mate...;)

...two competitors meet again...talk about incredible provenance...the drive to push the old against the new was real and admirable...

I know some here pushed those limits...I am honored to have chatted here and there with them...

Stogy, you were not joking when you mentioned a shit load of sanding, I have spent approx, 6 - 8 hours to get it to this stage. Well worth it, as this is the first panel I have ever made from scratch. Glen 20230918_171905.jpg 20230918_172135.jpg

I believe it's usually the receiver's of the panels that endure the laborious and sometimes painful task of finishing them but in your case you are both the Fabricator and Finisher as it's your personal Hotrod in the making...they look the part Glen...you should be rightfully proud...;)

I have an aviation background. I am reminded over and over here of how connected Hotrod is to that when I see one, fit and finish, two, the use of clecos...those are what I called #20 I believe actually referenced as 5/32" clecos proper (color being the identifier here)...three, the extensive use of Aluminum being shaped through use of wheels, bucks, panel beating, heating and shrinking...and riveting, and, and...nice work with all of that Marty...that Hotrod is gonna fly...;)

Denny, that looks to be from way back when you had your 57...school days I believe you mentioned...

Those Chevy pickups didn't often see a full complement of air diffusers...nicely done...do you still have it?
