Well the transfer didn't work. They still want the guy I have the bos from to file. I can't win on this. Also said I may need to have it appraised. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I used the correct form as well

I should have mentioned (if it was not mentioned in Dan and I chat) that you should tell them it's been sitting on your property since whenever.
Did they know what that form was for? You may have given them to much information :)
Seems the SOS is always a pain.

Michigan DMV just changed the rules on lost titles within the last ninety days.

I have filed for dozens of lost title cars in the past. Michigan being one of the easiest states to get title.

I tried to file for a car last month and nobody at the local Sec of State branch knew how to do it under the new rules..

I was told they would get back with me (almost 4 weeks ago). Still nothing..

If they deny you, To make government officials actually do the job for which they were hired, use registered mail, keep the slip. There is laws concerning due process and the response time. Mention what you asked for, the law statutes and who you talked with, THEY do not however have to "tell you the laws", you must be smart enough to figure it out and how to use it and make them perform the work processing the papers.

They told me I could not "tag" my homebuilt motorcycle trailer, they were wrong. Now the local tag-tax man knows my first name. I am sure the re-trained people there have a pet name for me too. He's a nice guy, but the counter girls didn't want to do anything not fee collect, type-stamp and go on with the gossip. (I saw a girls boobs last trip there) I told her I like this place and she smiled. My wife was not amused.

To register a vehicle that does not require a title in Ga (where I am) you must run a VIN search by a uniformed officer with the proper paperwork.. a old flamed hotrod came with with two dozen charges and warrants, then final words were, No HOLDS.. You'd be surprised what kinda trouble old cars can get into. All the local states are linked together too.

Our Bill of sale and tag receipt is the "registration" and with proper paperwork they trade it for a title in your state. Done it now about two dozen times in lots of states. You'd be surprised how many old cars are scrapped cause of no title from Georgia and ignorant owners.

Send that Divco to me, we'll dig something out of the bushes and send it back home with you with a shiny new Georgia plate and bill of sale.

I'm sure you can get it registered without trucking it to Ga and swapping it for one of my lawn ornaments.

Neat.. I love things I can crawl into a sleep at a meet.. sleeping in the back of the el Camino was wonderful last event tho. Well that stray dog did open my cooler up at 5am, ate all my bologna.. .

It don't take that much power to move it. Got a buddy with a old mail truck that gets +22mpg.. Ford V6-5 speed.

Great save! At least it won't end up as some of those damn chinese "break-o-matic" drill bits or "bleeding knuckles guaranteed" wrenches!

Cool, I have a friend who's dying to get one of those.

Its really cool how there's original hand lettering on it.

I wish people still hand lettered things all the time, vinyl sucks.
