I sold this one earlier in the year. Still a little sad about it. It's tough after wanting a car for so many years, then finally having it, to have to let it go. But, I'm greatful that I was able to sell for the amount I did. It is helping us get thru some skiny times.

I joke at dinner that the raodster "sure tasts good tonight".

I know exactly how you feel .I sold a car I had for 10 years Did the bodywork ,paint twice and put 2 different motors in it ,2 different rears ,For weeks I thought as if I lost a friend......It will slowly pass ,The money doesn't help ..That car was part of you....

Since there is no wife or kids I wont have to sell anything to keep anyone fed and happy but this economy is worrying me some,I do have some non car stuff I can sell to get some money to keep the bills paid if things get any slower. I would probably sell the house before selling my 55 Ford and 37 Chevy p/u as I dont need a 3 bedroom house for just myself and could use a smaller house with a larger garage.

  6. Like docc, I'm old enough to have been through the car selling due to recession deal more than once, four times in fact! Our economy always comes back and you'll get another car before you know it. One other thing that I can tell you with certainty is getting to build another car after an experience like the one you're having will make the next build much sweeter. I've also found that it has made me appreciate other guys cars more too. I've been collecting parts for a year for a build that I'm starting next month. I'll be 60 years old before I even get to take my first (probably illegal) test drive and I'm looking forward to it. You did the right thing and you know it, keep your eyes on the horizon and keep going. Life is about the trip, not the destination.

at 65 years old I've had to part with some choice cars and parts over the years to "do the right thing". One rule I have that helps is I never sell to anyone that lives close enough for me to see it driving around with a new owner. It's a small thing but "out of sight, out of mind" works for me.

Been there done that, doing it again!!! Got a guy really interested in my 1964 sportster, 70's survivor chopper, but he lives 3 hours away and I hope I will not see what he does with it. Times are tough now, and I am just thankful I have toys I can sell to help make payments. I had hoped the last time I did this, it was not gonna happen again, but life happens!!! I'l sell what I have to to keep my house and family!!! I have a couple buddies who have lost most everything, but they still have thier boats or race cars!!! That sure does a lot for them as they are forced out of thier homes!!! I just do not know how they could do that, let alone thier wives seem to have put up with it!!! I'll miss my bike, like I've missed my other rides, but I love my house and family!!! Just try to get by for now and when the light starts to shine on you again you can build another ride!! Keep your head up...

Signs of the times, things will be better. You did the right thing by you and your family.
