About dam'n time! "Police in Canada Recover $3 Million Worth of Cl***ic Cars" Full story Here: https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a60898832/police-canada-recover-stolen-cl***ic-cars/
I guess I'll never forget my high school mates cars getting stolen by a loser (do not RIP) from our high school. One was a 65 Nova SS 327/300 hp/4speed, they had parted out most of it, but the whole frontend was hanging on the wall with the license plate still attached to the bumper. Another was a 48 Ford pickup, had a real deal 327/365 hp and a B&M 4 speed hydro, was found before getting dismantled. It has to be a gut wrenching feeling to have happen to a person.
Guess I missed all the fun. Now, I personally don't have a political bone in my body but hopefully those that do will keep their trap shut!
had a daily driver stolen once. could have been worse, I could have caught them. some lady called me a month or so later and said my car had been in front of her house for a month. broke a wing window and stole the stereo. 80 year old guy in Oakland had his 61 or so Corvette stolen from his garage after he came home from the Goodguys show in Pleasanton a couple months back.. real nice car.
You would think you could park your own car in your garage and leave the keys in the ignition. Not so, fellow a few streets over lost a nice daily driver that way.
Oh yes,,, Change of Life. Fortunately they were just parts, when I lived in city. Carb, manifold, 220 4 spd, Sun tach, and an unmounted pair of M&H's
Interesting as I found a couple articles from local papers including the Ottawa Citizen, but they are not really detailed. Seems a Lambton, Ontario (near Detroit) citizen started the investigation when he reported his car stolen to the Ontario Provincial Police - OPP. Sixteen of the cars are stolen, the remainder purchased likely from the proceeds of criminal activity. I p***ed by Belleville (about halfway between Toronto and Ottawa, and 5 hrs away from Lambton) yesterday going to Toronto to pick up a partial body for my other OT project. Lol! https://ottawacitizen.com/news/loca...robe-uncovers-3-million-worth-of-cl***ic-cars https://petrolialambtonindependent....-to-major-stolen-car-seizure-near-belleville/
Haha! Too early in the morning. The article in the first link says 16 vehicles were stolen. So, were there 32 vehicles in total? Still on my first cofffee. Lol!
been some pretty big car theft rings busted recently. you got this one in canada worth about $3 million and the other one in canada at around $17 million. then you got the michigan one at $8 million another in Ohio at $5 million and cannot forget the couple down in texas with the one tipping the scale at $10 million. Glad to see some of these bigger ones get taken down.
We will probably never see the complete story but it make you wonder about the "why" that many were stolen in the first place. Then stashed in what looks like a haphazard collection rather than hidden in a warehouse waiting to be stripped or shipped to a country where legit paperwork doesn't mean alot. At least it looks like the owners or their insurance companies will get the cars back in one piece this time.
Thanks mods for keeping the HAMB on point and eliminating the riff-raff. We appreciate your mostly thankless work keeping the place clean and tidy!
