Kinda- I guess this is more like a re-introduction. I've been a member for a long time, but haven't been active for a while because I've kinda gotten away from old cars. In fact, I'm posting because I'm gonna sell some stuff and I thought that the HAMB Brethren should get the first crack at what I got to get rid of. I know, I'm nuts, but I have some good reasons: First off, the wife and I had a daughter who is now two years old. She is tons of fun, but I just don't have as much disposable time because I'm now a father. With that limited disposable time I have a few other things to work on that include: a) About a year ago we bought a mid-century house here in Oakland that we remodeled and just moved into. Mike Zenor- if your still around, I'll send you pics- you'll totally dig it!! This place still needs some work and occupies a lot of my time. Oh, yeah and my wife is an architect so you can't imagine my "honey-do" list. It typically calls for the fabrication of something on my end............ Also- along with the mid-century architecture, I now have a car port rather than a garage and less space. I've already gotten rid of a bunch of furniture projects that won't fit in terms of space and time. b) I still have some scooter projects that I'm keeping. Hey man, they like take up less space. I got a Lambretta Series II that I've been threatening to put together for about 5 years now as well as my Vespa that needs some attention to get running again. c) In the last 4 years I've become an professional vacuum tube circuit designer. Yes, it is my job to design and build prototypes of guitar amps as well as oversee the manufacturing facility of VHT Amplifiers in Brisbane California. http://www.vhtamplifier.com/ Did I mention that I play guitar half the day and get paid for it.......? Yes, it's awsome. Along with that, I do restorations of old amps and have gained intimate knowledge of some classic designs like the 5E3 Tweed Fender Deluxe, Marshall 1974 (18 watt), Magnatone 260 (the "Lonnie Mack" amp), and the Silvertone 1484 (Twin Twelve). d) I still play in some crappy bands. So I'm gonna start posting some stuff like my old 49 F1 pick- up and some tools in the classifieds. I may also do some HAMB auctions because I have some old books that may be of interest like the first two issues of Customs by TSR (remember that?) and the Jay Carnine book. Nice to be back....
JUSTIN!!! Long time no see! Glad to see you back, I was thinking about you a while ago after seeing a Harold Ray Live video on YouTube. Congrats on the new fambly and house! You should join the HAMB "MidCentury Mod Rodders" group and post pix of your place (I think there's a link in my profile). BTW, I put a 175cc kit and 12v system on my my Li150 Series III, runs like a raped ape. We need to catch up, I'll spring for tacos in Mountain View next time I'm out there.
