My friend George , an old hot rod guy gave it to me, he figured he'd never use it, so I ended up with it! I was most grateful.

Its been A while since I've posted any progress, Though I've made plenty. Getting ready to drop the motor here In a few mins. I have a few questions for those other builders out there, regarding pinion angle of my banjo/torque tube/flathead , what should all of that be angled at?

Alright so check it; I picked up a complete *running* 21 stud 1935 flathead last summer, I felt like running this in the roadster since its all ready to go pretty much. I would like to make the chassis to accept both motors..8BA & 21 stud.. I realize the differences in mounts, can anyone further elaborate a hybrid style motor mount?? Moving on.. I dropped the motor today for mock up, this is the first time Ive had a motor in this chassis..

    Ready to drop in..

I wont be using this on this particular car but just out of curiosity, Regarding the f1 open drive rear bearing retainer.. where does this piece belong?

Another Question.. Keep in mind, this motor is just hanging there right now.. Does the ignition on this particular '35 flathead clear a Model A radiator? I can push the motor back a couple inches after I notch the front cross member, But honestly It doesn't look like enough.. any input? I cant seem to find any photos or builds on here where a 21 stud is used in an av8. Normally the 59A or 8BA's are used, But I'm aiming towards a certain period correctness of 1940 style and equipment.

Nevermind, I realize now this goes on the input shaft, but why?

  12. I think there is a seal on the inside of it.

    Good job man.

Yeah. That's the front snout on your transmission. Your throw out bearing rides on that piece. You need one of those...

So, It's not just an F1 piece? Reason I ask Is because I bought the bearing retainer and this piece together as an open drive conversion..

That piece has nothing to do with the rear axle. Maybe a $2-5 part at a swap meet. On the front of every transmission from like 34-48 (maybe more)

Notice that the torque tube has more than 4 bolts in it? This couldn't possibly bolt to a rear banjo axle center section.

Working the drivers side. Keeping pedal mount in stock location, should work out.. I wanted to keep a nice mounting flange equally around the pedalmount, so I sectioned much less..

Thanks, I really wanted to make it fit like it would have came with it factory.. I didn't want to go the boxed frame route. I dig the way it flows.
