nope, powdercoating gets cooked on at 400 degrees- it can take the heat- and is resiliant to gas and oil- think i will do some valve covers to match

How much do those powder coating set-ups run? In American dollars, please.

the powdercoating kit was about $200 u.s. and i cure small parts in a household oven-BUT NOT THE ONE YOU COOK FOOD IN- once you cure powder in it, that is all it is good for. i also have uv drying lights i use on bigger pieces

Hate to burst your bubble there, badpat...but grease and oil and gas will eventually get to powdercoating--meaning stain it. Did some '64 Chevy valve covers in lite blue about eight years ago...now they look like ****...stained on the manifold side from leaking gas from the carb (since fixed) and if you leave the oil and grease on them too long, that too will stain them and it won't come out, no matter what you use!

However, powdercoating is tuff stuff, keep it clean all the time, like chrome and you won't have any problems!

Pat you said something about using UV drying lights to cure the larger parts? Is there a special technique in using those? How big of a part are you able to cure with the lights? I've been thinking about buying a powdercoating set up to do some suspension parts.

How hot do the lights have to get to cure the powder?

Howmany parts/ area does an Eastwoods kit get you?

What do you plan for the rest of the engine?

    Looks bad***!

    thanks,

I got some laquer thinner on some powder coated parts once and that stuff discolored and plain out removed some of the coating too...
