My name is Greg, I live in Blue Springs (just east of Kansas City, MO)
I'm very new to actually working on cars. Have been interested in cars for a long time. I decided it was time to start learning about the working of cars a little more so I decided I needed a project car. I bought a 1949 Ford Coupe, cause I've always like the look of the Shoebox, and have just started to work on it and I'm sure I will need TONS of help and advice, that's why I've turned to the board, I've been reading it for quite awhile and I've read lots of great post full of great advice and expertise.
So far I've been mostly just trying to get it all planned out, and that has been tons of fun. What I'm planning so far is to drop it between 3 and 6 inchs, shave it of all trim, add some lake pipes, and either chop it or carson top it. I'd really like to go for the traditional 50's-60's kustom car look.

    Greg.

Welcome aboard, Greg! Can't believe it! MY 1st car was a 49 Ford 2 door coupe with a V-8 flathead & a 3 speed on the column! Dark blue. Pretty cool at the time. I was in High School. Today I wish I had that car back again! Lots of fun!

Welcome to the H.A.M.B My Dad car is a 49 Meteor (Canadian Ford with a cool grille). Runs the flattie 239. They have a sound all of their own. Enjoy the car and keep cruising. Uncle Tom

Welcome Greg. Looks like we are damn near neighbors. I live on the NE side of Independence, but no Meth lab here! Bunch of that old shoebox stuff around my area, in fact there is a '49 over here for sale now. Gimme a shout sometime if you want to know about it.
