From last Thursday at Quaker Streak and Lube, Council bluffs Iowa, just across the Missouri river from Nebraska.
SFOB is a great show. Lots of cool local cars that come out of hiding. I host a cruise night in San Mateo called Bay Area Cruise Night. We attract about 2k cars. Its hard to get all the hotrod guys out but every time there are few cars that surprise you. Next one is August 14th.
Cool, that looks like a lot of fun with a number of nifty cars. Some of the car guys in this area did a couple of cruise nights at a local burger drive in that had just rebuilt after a fire a year before. That was to give the place some support and to do show and tell but it was low key with no organized goings on. This year there is a monthly cruise night at a different spot that is a bit more organized but still far more of a we are going to be here at this time thing than show.
That black 48 Chevy with dealer installed woody kit is a rare one. I had one and it resold for $30,000 a couple of years ago.
Growing up in VT in the 70’s & 80’s going to car shows was a 4 month window and usually required a 2-4hr drive with the exception of a very few “local” annual shows. Being fortunate enough to live in GA where there are local cruise-ins year round I still try to go to small shows or cruises Outside my area. It’s amazing the quality cars and people you’ll meet 1-2 hours away from home that you never would otherwise.
