I posted this in my other thread but seems to be getting overlooked for the most part so I deleted it and starting a new thread about it here.

I am going to leave it up to yall if you want to see what the plans are for this car and share the build here. My concept drawings are here. This car was not HAMB friendly several years ago but seems like that has relaxed a little since I first joined.

Majority wins.......... share it here or keep it to myself? I'll still be here checking out rides and getting ideas but if too many think this is to close to a gold chainer car I will leave it off. (for the record I own no gold chains or any jewlery that would cut in to my car addition :D)

Body / Interior-mild custom traditonal looking
Chassis- modern Pro-touring type suspension / brakes
Motor / Trans- Early Olds Rocket but with fuel injection and modern 5 or 6-speed
Wheels / Tires painted or chrome OE steelies but custom made in 18"

    The car in question

Maybe it's because the other post didn't have any build pictures. I'd start by posting what you have, inside, outside and underneath. Start the disassembly with pictures of course, then build pictures.

I'm already going to build it exactly like I want it I just don't want to offend the majority on the site by posting the build here. I know when I first joined I would have been run out of town by a posse for even showing a picture.

It was not the thread getting over looked it was my question about keeping the build here of not. Serveral had posted after seeing the pics on the first page and never saw this question on the 2nd page.

Don't worry about offending the majority. Start posting and the majority will tell you what they think.

I am not saying that you may not be offended. :)

  9. While Pro Touring is off topic on the HAMB (a site about traditional builds supposedly) the number of cars and pickups on Chevy S-10 and Dodge Dakota Frames would suggest your car is acceptable here. Beats the crap out of a R__ Rod in my book to have a well engineered chassis. Flame on.

"Body / Interior-mild custom traditonal looking"
    Check.

"Chassis- modern Pro-touring type suspension / brakes"
    It's hidden. Check.

"Motor / Trans- Early Olds Rocket but with fuel injection and modern 5 or 6-speed"
    Trans is hidden. Check.
    Olds Rocket. Check.
What style of F.I.? Hey...it'll have a hood, won't it?

"Wheels / Tires painted or chrome OE steelies but custom made in 18 inch"
Now you're pushin' it. Just kiddin'. Just don't put rubberband tires on it. Do they even make tall sidewall tires for 18" wheels? (besides something for a Model A?)

Now that you've got my all-important opinion, do you feel better? Lol.

I agree with chaddilac, just build it like you want!

Your car is in similar condition to mine so I'm looking forward to following your build. I have a 1953 Olds 98 that's "in process". I'm planning to keep the 303 and hydramatic trans, and looking Old School Cool, with 50's style upholstery (undecided on the pattern and my ability to sew) and lowered a bit. Since I want to drive the hell out of it, the only serious modification I plan to make is to install disc brakes.

Good luck and keep us posted!

    It's not up to us.

On the FI on a true old time classic V8 like the Rocket; we may disagree on if it should be on here...but you've got to wonder how long we will be able to fight the new fuel mixes when using our old carbs. So, yea, I want to see how you do the injection...even if you aren't trying to make it look old/hidden. (but that is up to the moderators, as some FI threads get closed)

The build thread can stay, but this one has no value.
