    Hi all,

Have been looking at putting a C4 conversion (Flatomatic) to the 39 Merc engine in my 36. I have a rebuilt banjo rear now running 3.54 gears that I want to keep, I know I have to go to an open drive conversion to do this.

What is the best way to mount the front of the locating rods that currently bolt up to the front of the torque tube????

Brought together to a single point, mounted off an auxiliary crossmember.

It would be a good idea to supplement the radius arms with a torque rod to ease the bending action imparted to the radius rods.

Much easier to say than do.

It's easy to get it wrong.

    Mart.

Check my build thread, post 91 or somewhere. I used a Uniball so it doesn't bind like tie rod ends or Heims. Or, you could use a front wishbone ball and socket. As already mentioned a torque rod also.
