My Model A Roadster suffers from this issue like many of them do. I've seen some neat ideas around this with custom safety latches and straps. Post up how you solved this issue please. Looking for ideas.

Nicely done. Kinda has an aircraft look. I like it.

Thanks man. Yeah, they're vintage military aircraft tail wheel quadrant locks.

Wow, very impressive. Just the sort of original idea i'm looking for.

I want to do something with parts that could be found surplus, junk yard, or just laying around the farm in the 40s and 50s used in a very creative way to solve the problem.

Thanks, I found these years ago at an aircraft surplus yard in Phoenix.....didn't know what I was going to use them for at the time. Like you, I was having some body flex door pops on my A coupe and was looking for a solution. Started seeing them used as suicide door locks on hot rods (3wLarry's (RIP) 32 on here) and copied it. The word has been out on these particular locks though for quite some time, so if you can find them, they're cost prohibitive. There's a listing on Ebay right now @ 275.00 per lock. I paid 10 bucks for a pair 30 some years ago.

Don't know if this will give you any ideas. Many guys I know went with bear claw latches and one guy I know bolted a slide bolt latch from a regular house door near the bottom of his coupe door. Not too visually appealing but it did the trick. 401942323_tp.jpg 401942340_tp.jpg 401942364_tp.jpg
