:):)Been onbord about 2 weeks. Some things I dont like Hearing. I say hotrodding has gone full circile. In 30s&40s kids bought a old car for10 $ & wanted to go fast .No money to buy speed parts, so thay did next best thing ....Thay made car lighter got rid of fenders hoods even cut of roofs. Any thing to loose weight. They were not interested in shiney paint or crome parts.Today Rat rods have come of interest Most people dont have 70 or80grand to buld a car so thay do the best with what thay got. Some of the Rat rods are not practicle & it is up to the state Inspection station to check them out. I know of hi dollar rods that cant go 100 miles without a brakedown Oldschool rods, u just burn rubber& go and dont worry about chipping a 10,000$ paint job I say give ratrods a brake:

    Wow?
Integrity in the build of a hot rod won't break the bank?Learn some skills, meet some craftsman and people who know what the hell they're doing?
Cobbling a ****ty "road load" together to save money and try to go fast will break something....the oncoming driver and p***engers or you and yours when the ****box falls apart at speed.
This site is about quality and creating something safe and desired, not a septic tank with a steering column.
It's been said before, this just might not be the forum for you?
    Best wishes and good luck.

By your logic a lawn mower could be a hot rod.

The answer is no. Not here. Here they burn in hell.

There are other sites where it's fine though.

A normal person can build a ridler car for 5k, it just takes a ton of work and a ton of learning, there are NO excuses for building a pile of ****.

I'm doing my own paint, machining, fab, chrome prep, and everything else on my show car model T, BTW i'm self taught, and 26 years old

Just because I think its funny I'll post this pic.

Rat rods ****. They **** because they use up perfectly good parts for hot rods. They **** in their design and fabrication, and safety. Cobbled together garbage is what a rat rod is. I cringe when I see these abominations in magazines, let alone in person.

To me they are the easy way out for someone who either has no skills, taste, vision, patience, or all of the listed.

    Death to the "ray-at rawd".

Oh hell I dusted of the lawn chair to watch this !! No I hope that good craftsmanship is not sacrificed for any car build and saftey is a number one concern. The rat rod stuff is a source of conflict that throws up some flags, but The ol nsra saftey 23 was a good rule. There are some guys that are building cars on a budjet here, light and fast but safe no plow bolts and bailing wire. It's not about being snobs we just want to see safe well preserved examples of traditional hot rods here. Man there is not any snobs here that I know about, but there are some folks that take offense to poor quality unsafe ****.
