I have for years been trying to get access to some vehicles in a defunct used car lot just outside my city.

It closed years ago at the death of the owner, leaving locked inside an****ortment of about 75 cars and trucks, of which the newest is an '80s model and the oldest dates to 1950. The family would do nothing as long as the owner's wife, the matriarch of the clan, was alive. She would price cars, but she thought they were as nice and valuable as they were when they came in to the lot, and the figures were outrageous.

She died, aged about 90 years, early this year, and the family just settled ownership of the lot and its contents. My persistence paid off, because I've just been granted authority to dispose of all the vehicles and every scrap of metal on the place.

I'm meeting a guy this morning to earmark about 50 vehicles, none collectible, for the crusher, but the rest are worth some effort, among them these HAMB-worthy vehicles.

    1952 Chevy tudor sedan
    1957 Studebaker Champion fordor sedan
    1958 Buick Special tudor sedan
    1958 Ford F-100 short/wide
1961 Ford F-100 short unibody pickup
    1962 Mercury Monterey fordor sedan
    1963 F-100 short/wide
    1963 Ford Galaxie fordor sedan
    1964 Ford F-100 short/wide
    1964 Ford Econoline van
    '60s Dodge A-100 six-door van

These are in varying states of completeness. The Dodge van essentially is a body on a frame; some of the trucks are missing drivetrains and, perhaps, interiors, while other vehicles go from reasonably complete up to driving when parked.

It's going to take a while to sort parts.

There's and incredible, absolutely fetishistic amount of hubcaps and wheelcovers. I've found a Ford flathead V8 with front-mounted distributor and a '66 Buick 340 HP 401, along with scads of starters, generators, carburetors, transmissions, wheels, and taillight lenses.

I'll start posting pictures sometime this weekend.

Bill, I'll guess that this one will get deleted. maybe one of the moderators will PM you as to why.I'm guessing they would like to see it in the classifieds.

When, or if, I start selling stuff, all that info and action will take place in the classifieds. I placed this post just to share the excitement and enjoyment of finding treasure among trash.

I have no problem with the post being moved or, even, deleted, but I have a giant-ass problem with it being done without notice, warning, reprimand, or explanation.

    Dude,

Where was this place? Please keep your eyes open for any flathead Mopar stuff, especially speed goodies. I'm really looking for a fluid drive transmission and corresponding 230Ci six.

I totally agree. Just letting you know that it will probably go away again.

I can see your excitement. The possibilities are there with this stash. Hopefully with the power of the HAMB you can find that tin some good homes.

    Good luck! :D

    Bill,
Just to let you know on your original list deletion.

I went back and looked at your previous posts and one of the other moderators deleted it because your list included years 66,68 and 70 models.

We hold the line on 64 and newer in the classifieds and even though you were sharing some "foreplay" info in the HAMB page, we mods just have to hold the line on information years shared or guys will start asking if any VW's are available. (OH REALLY ? )
If we don't the flood gates open and guys want to talk about newer stuff.

Thats the reason why and Bill, you have always been a great guy posting and I noticed your new list stayed below 64 model.

Thanks and good luck with the treasures.

Thanks for the explanation. In retrospect, I should have thought to omit non-HAMB material, but I was caught up in the excitement of the moment.

My future comments will adhere to the "Oh,*****, lookie here!" pattern, 'cause I'm finding some neat items. Any sales activity will absolutely be restricted to the classifieds.

I appreciate the opportunity to share the excitement with my fellow automaniacs.

Not that it matters much, but that 58 Ford pickup is actually a 60. Just an FYI. Great find :D

Guilty as charged. Tired men make mistakes. The '58 model had round parking lights, eggcrate grille, and other differences.

I had the bright idea to take a load of '80s wire wheelcovers to the metal recycling plant, so I loaded what proved to be 560 pounds of 'em, maybe a third of those on the property, in my small trailer in the afternoon sun of a 96-degree day. I'll not tax myself like that again; the lot brought the whopping sum of $16.

It was deleted because we don't allow classified ads in the main forum.

It is obvious you are selling these cars. So if you would like to start posting pictures of your cars and parts, please do it in the classified section with prices.

    Thanks,
